It has been almost 5 years since I first laid eyes on the Lady Lock with bamboo top handle. Now, nearly 5 years later, I am still in love. The Lady Lock with bamboo top handle, to me, is the most perfect handbag. My first Lady Lock was purchased in October 2014 after a summer spent training for my first sprint distance triathlon. To reward myself for the hours spent in the pool, on the bike and pounding the pavement, I proudly purchased the grey Lady Lock a few weeks after completing my first and only sprint Triathlon. The following year, my interest in Triathlon training faded, but my love for the Lady Lock remained . To mark a workplace milestone, I treated myself to the large black python Lady Lock.
Sadly, the Lady Locks became hard to find in the boutiques and I had to turn to the preloved market. In November/December 2018, I was lucky to come across the beige Lady Lock and black Lady Lock clutch on the resale market. Using funds from having consigned other handbags that were no longer working for me or that I never should have purchased in the first place, I added these two Lady Locks to my collection.
So here is my tribute to the Gucci Lady Lock. As her champion and supporter, I hope to continue to expand my collection. Long may she reign.
