DH isn't really a holiday type of guy, so I decided to do a little gifting to myself, from myself - for Valentine's Day. :D I'm just now kind of getting to a point where I'm getting more into jewelry - so instead of getting another bag, I decided to go for jewelry!

I had a right hand ring that I dinged against something so hard a few years ago that I had moved the prongs out of place making it so that I couldn't wear the ring for fear the diamond would fall out. I decided to have the diamond reset into a bezel setting necklace and have an amethyst stone (my favorite color is purple) put into the ring.

I'm happy with how they turned out! The only thing I would like opinions on is on the actual chain the bezel is on... I wanted something basic as I have a more simple/classic type of taste as far as jewelry concerned, however I'm not sure if the one I picked is "too basic" if that makes sense... I can have it taken back in and have a lobster clasp put on it - but I wanted to pick up it because they've had it for a few weeks already and I wanted to wear the necklace on vacation.

So I guess my main question is...Do you think a different type of chain would look good with the bezel? (They have to take the bezel off and put it on any sort of chain because of how small the hole behind the bezel is.) Or should I just stick with what it's on?

Anyhow, thanks for looking! I'm just kind of tip-toeing into the world of jewelry... I've been enjoying looking at all of you ladies purchases so I thought I would share too! :D

Thanks for the opinions on the chain ladies! I actually went back and looked at pictures of the old ring tonight and I'm loving this setup (diamond in a necklace & amethyst in the ring mounting) alot more!

For that type of pendant, I really like the chain you picked. I wouldn't change it but I would definitely get a light weight lobster claw put on. If you go too heavy on the lobster claw it will forever be riding in the front instead of the back of your neck.

Happy VDay to You - .:smile1:

^ Good point about a lighter weight lobster clasp. I will make sure to mention that when I take it back in, they were pretty good at interpreting what I was trying to describe so I'm sure they will "get it". :D

Thanks to all! I'm going to enjoy wearing it today! :D
