hey all, i just had a lip lift done at retmus and there seems to be quite a lot of interest in this clinic so i'll be writing my review here! i've been wanting to do a lip lift for quite some time, especially after i had my rhinoplasty done and my philthrum started looking a little longer than i'd wanted.

i've been eyeing retmus clinic because they seem to be highly specialised in doing lip lifts and alarplasty/rhinoplasty together to prevent nasal spread, a common side effect that was reported after a lip lift. this was perfect for me because i also had a terrible alarplasty done in singapore and needed a revision to remove the alarplasty scars.

so i booked my consultation and hired an english translator (the clinic told me to hire one). the consultation with the doctor was pretty straightforward and he told me that i needed a 4mm lip lift with an alar lift and alar rim grafts to reshape my nostrils. he also said that he could only partially remove the scar on my nostrils (the ones below the alar), though i was happy enough to hear that it could be improved considering that no other korean doctor seems to want to touch it.

i had my surgery done 2 days later under sleeping anaesthesia and i didn't really feel much pain except for tightness around the upper lip and nostrils. as for my recovery, it was quite an easy surgery and i really appreciated that the clinic was really helpful and responsive in answering any of my questions.

i am about 2 weeks post-op now and these are my results. the area's still quite swollen, but i'm really happy with how it turned out so far, especially with the improvement to my alarplasty scar.

Yikes, That is expensive. Practically USA prices.
It looks great! Well worth the money. That said, these aren't "Korean" prices. Hope it's not rude of me to say.
Yeah it was definitely pricey but so worth it.

Here's my 1-month progress pic at the moment:

It's only been a month but I'm really pleased with how the scar looks, I can barely see it! Also, I can now close my lips together but the area still feels rather tight and stiff. I'll update again but so far so good!

Looks great! What type of treatment if any are you doing to prevent scarring? Do you know why you scarred for your previous alarplasty?
Thank you! The doctor recommended me to do steroid shots 1x per month for 3 months to prevent scarring. I'll probably start on CO2 laser as well.

I believe it was poor technique by the alarplasty surgeon :/

Are you going to be in Korea to do those shots or you'll be back at home? Did he say to use kenalog?

To prevent scars, I've seen some recommend silicone sheets and/or silicone creams and massaging it. So you may want to do some research on that.
