Here I am again! Still deciding on a 5 motif to match my yellow gold pave vintage pendant. I thought I had finally narrowed it down to the full pave 5 motif, but I had the chance to try on the guilloche/pave alternating in the boutique the other day. I think it’s super cute! I thought that maybe the alternating motif makes it so that it isn’t TOO “matchy-matchy” with my pendant and breaks up the pave a little. On the flip side, I have raging OCD and don’t fare well with visible scratches, so everyone is telling me pave is the most practical way to go, which I agree with. I’m having a tough time making a final decision, since I’d really like it to be something I can wear daily without having to worry, but also something I can style easily for any occasion. I feel like if I truly can’t decide, I may just have to rule out both… which would be very disappointing. But I don’t want to make a decision that I’ll regret either.

Tbh although I usually love alternating motifs, I don't like the pave/guilloche because I feel they compete with each other and oddly I think the guilloche overpowers the pave .
From my experience, guilloche scratched so easily and it looked visible. It also wouldn’t stay shiny because it got dirty quicker than my other pieces. It bothered me a lot so I ended up selling it…
If you have raging OCD, it may drive you crazy to look down and constantly see the pave motifs in the 5-motif pave flipped over.
I wouldn’t suggest either of these pieces for someone with raging ocd, for different reasons!

Agree with this - vintage hammered also less matchy matchy (it sounds like you are mindful of that too) but still very cohesiveI wouldn’t suggest either of these pieces for someone with raging ocd, for different reasons!

Unfortunately, I’m really not too fond of the hammered gold
especially worn on its own. It’s kind of dull to me and doesn’t have any sort of ‘wow’ factor. I feel that the hammered gold is ideal for stacking, which I don’t plan to do.The pave one will flip and you will see the back of it. It’s part of the reason I opted against the alternating 5 motif with pave and grey MOP, and that’s speaking as someone without OCD. It would just annoy me, although that’s a beautiful piece. The hammered gold looks the same on each side so motifs flipping isn’t an issue. I have it in a 10 motif and love it.
Perhaps then you could go for the pave 5 motif and wear it quite fitted - that way less likely for motifs to flip. Probably still not impossible. The scratches on the guilloche will irritate you and I agree with others that it competes with pave too much.Unfortunately, I’m really not too fond of the hammered gold
I vote pave 5 motif. The guilloche will definitely scratch.
Deffo the pave 5-motif in my opinion - guilloche looks like such a dust and scratch magnet especially on a high-traffic item like a bracelet.
