Gucci as a brand never really caught my attention until late 2016, only to which I found out a new creative director, Alessandro Michele took office for a year by then. Of all the designs that were interesting, the double GG marmont look was most appealing to me. Many times I visited the boutique, but walked out empty handed because I wasn't sure whether these styles would stand the test of time. Fast forward 1 year later, Gucci is killing it on social media. I was looking for a small bag that can be worn day to night, and has the flexibility to be worn on the waist. Gucci was the only brand that came into my mind.
So this is how I spiralled downhill.
The GG marmont metalasse supermini bag took my breath away. It was everything I was looking for in a bag. However, all stores in my country were completely sold out of it, BUT THERE WAS ONE that was under reservation. I hurried to that store, but was declined to even see the bag. the SA told me that the waiting list is really long. By this time I knew my chances of scoring this bag was pretty low as the SA wasn't exactly helpful.
So off I went to another boutique, and found an angel! This is when I truly believe that if you can find a good SA, you will be able to get what you want. Although she told me the same, "no supermini", she was kind to show me different items, and I ended up settling for another bag of similar style. However, my heart still yearned for the supermini every day, and I did not feel the excitement when i unboxed it.
14 days later, which is today, I received a text from the same SA telling me that they have a supermini in store! I managed to exchange for the supermini, and also picked up my very first pair of Gucci Slip Ons. Just as I was paying for my items, another customer enquired about the supermini already. *I hope she gets lucky!*
I am very happy to finally land my hands on this rare piece of art!
