Need my Gucci fam to honestly answer a question. What do you REALLY think about making a vintage Gucci suitcase into a coffee table, similar of the LV coffee tables?? Originally, I did want an LV table but they are quite common now and I think one made from a vintage Gucci would be pretty cool. I was thinking about a low table, approx. 6" to 7" from the ground with a nice piece of thick tempered glass on top. Any opinions?? First pic below shows what kind of suitcase I'd use, second pic is just a vintage suitcase table and third pic is an LV table. Any comments would be greatly appreciated!!! Happy holidays to all tPF!!!!! :hugs:you guys!!!!!

i think the idea is great. love the suitcase. but im having a hard time envisioning the suitcase as a table. i think the hand clasp is throwing it off. but if it wasnt there, then i think it would look much better. and im definitely suggesting NOT to remove it lol.

Tried to update old posting but it is too old and they won't allow it. Anyhoo...Okay guys, this is totally a rough draft and yes, I am very aware that it does not go with my islamic moroccan indian decor but who cares?? It's Gucci!! :) I was planning on installing antique hairpin legs but the case is such in mint condition that I just couldn't go through with drilling holes in the bottom so it is just placed in the top section. I still have to purchase the correct size glass top and I plan on getting a really nice one that has curved edges, but just wanted to get an eye for what it will eventually look like. Thanks all who cared and commented!!! And PLEASE, do not look at my HIDEOUS rocks and old fireplace which I HATE!!!!!! :yucky: p.s. Yes, I fixed the messed up placement of the case on the legs but am too lazy to snap another pic so you just gotta visualize that it is straight. hee hee!!
