Shopmom...designing landscapes and owning your own company is terrific! I would probably want a bag that could be a tote bag also if you carry a lot to work. A Birkin or large Bolide look really professional.
Honestly anything from Hermes that is easy for you to access would be my recommendation. I am on my fourth career change and am thinking about a Birkin for Interior Design because it can be easily used for files and samples. My only concern is that it might get too heavy.

Lovehermes....I understand what you're saying about weight and the Birkin. A friend of mine who is a designer also carrys all her sample books in a big, nylon Prada tote and keeps her Birkin as a handbag and to carry all those small things....measuring tape, pens, camera, business cards, rulers, stuff like that. She says it works out very well for her....

I'm on the lookout for a Bolide for sure....I think you are definately right about its diversity - can go pro or casual. Love it.

Finally, here' are the pics I promised of my zippy Vespa and lovely scarf....

Hi shopmom...thanks for your comments on the Prada tote (great idea) and Birkin! Does your friend have a 30 or 35? I have the 30 Birkin and feel it might be too small for my stuff. I do love the Bolide and might buy another in a fun color. I love the zipper option when traveling or the Trim which has a zipper because of possible theft.:hrmm:
I love the vespa too...it looks secure...love the fun color and the scarf too!! I am 47, close to your age, love Hermes and can't stop either.
Can't wait to find out what your Bolide will be.:D

Wow! What a beautiful scarf and great bag... ! I love the ability to be able to wear that slung across the chest.. I am always on the lookout for bags like that. Great finds :)

Oh, you guys are so great! I've been playing with the scarf today and I'm totally in love with it. And Vespa is just the perfect thing to throw on when I'm running out the door for quick errands...keys, wallet, cell and I'm good to go. And I thought I'd only use it at the job-site!

Lovehermes.....my friend has the 35, a little big but she practically lives out of it and it suits her perfectly.

Ok. So, here I am browsing through the Hermes magazine the SA threw into my bag yesterday and what do I see? A simply TDF cuff bracelet made from Horn with one side lacquered in red. It's called the "Ano" cuff in buffalo horn and rosso lacquer. It's stunning. Really. Now, this is how bad this is....I got on the phone to the SA faster than the speed of light and reserved one for myself - of course they don't have ANY in San Francisco (actually I think it's not even out yet) but the minute one slides through the front door, it's MINE!

So, everyone, you can see the writing on the wall....

You are dead!!! And you crack me up...you are funnier than most of the ladies on here as of recent...thought you said your next purchase was next Mother's Day? We haven't made it one day...not even to this Mother's Day and you already have your next purchase!!!! BAD GIRL!!!!

<clap clap clap!!>

That zippy Vespa is soooooo cute!!!
I also love your choice of color!!

I can imagine you carrying that bag and working it!!!
So how does that piece of metal in the middle of the bag work? Is that for decoration? or does it come from the other side of the bag for closure? Looks interesting

And the scarf, no need to even mention that it is a beautiful piece of artwork... Drool...

I know, Kellybag....not even one bloody day!!! I've talked to the SA at Hermes more in two days than my own daughter....well.... she's 16 so that explains it.

Joanna....that metal thingy actualy has a purpose although it's a little tricky to get the hang of it for fast access. It's attached to the opposite side of the bag and goes through the hole in the front for closure. It's really pretty and adds a little pizzazz to the front of the bag.

You guys are great....:smile1:

Shopmom...thanks for letting me know about the size of your friend's Birkin. I'm really seriously thinking about a 35cm Birkin in ostrich...maybe. I wish I were in San Francisco...I need a shopping partner! Maybe this forum should arrange trips to Hermes all over the world, but we would be fighting for everything...lol.
The bracelet sounds like fun.
