My First Ferragamo!

Usually around the Holidays. Bloomingdales, Saks, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom have a major sale one time or another close to the Holidays. I missed an opportunity to own a black Sofia for 25% off last year. I won't repeat the same mistake this year.

SF is now a public company and I'm afraid that the quality may go down in the future like several other major designer brands. So, for me... this is the time to stock well-made pieces from SF and keep them for the next 10 years.

I didn't know that...thanks for letting us know, do you know any SF bag that's made with tough leather?

Your bag is made of tough leather! I have the same bag, but in the size a bit smaller. Last winter, I was crossing a street in town and my heel stepped on a large rock, causing me to sprain my ankle badly and fall down, wiping out in the middle of the street. I was carrying my brown SF Sofia. I was almost as worried about the bag as my ankle, but the bag was just fine. The leather, even after grating on the asphalt of the street, didn't show any marks at all. :smile:

Ferragamo does make a leather that might be what you are thinking of. http://www.ferragamo.com/webapp/wcs...551#/product/27652/6148914691233361777/456740 They call it embossed calfskin, but my SA told me it was water-treated and compressed to cause it to be more durable.
