This is a very early 30th, almost done with residency gift to myself because it's time I spoiled myself a little for the 11+ years of education I've put myself through! (And I probably have another year or so after I'm done, since I'm heavily considering fellowship!).

Anyway... who's here for a reveal? :P

After some careful decision-making, where I went to look at a bunch of different bags from a Prada Saffiano Double Zip to an Hermes Garden Party, I decided at first to get the Boy WOC in Metallic Black. I then reconsidered my decision as I'm not sure how durable the metallic leather would be and I already have a Proenza Schouler Wallet on a Chain in Black.

Therefore, I decided for something a bit bigger. It probably helped that Hermes and Prada had both had price increases and Chanel was about to have a price increase, although this bag isn't included in it!

I wrestled with my decision as the price from the Boy WOC to this bag was quite a bit of a difference, and I have bought a few pricey bags in the last few years since med school: Proenza Schouler PS1 medium, PS1 pochette, and PS1 wallet on a chain. (I may have a minor obsession with the PS1 line! I justify it by telling myself they all serve different purposes as they are all different sizes!). I also have gotten a Goyard St. Louis, an LV Eva and LV Neverfull, but the Chanel is definitely the HG bag! :graucho:

Here she is, from the Cruise 2014 collection:

The Now and Forever Flap in Black Washed Caviar in size Medium (6 x 9.5 x 3).

Thanks to my SA at NM, who was so helpful in tracking this one down as the one at the store was missing its box and authenticity card!

I love how the bag looks like a Classic Flap, but the leather being Washed Caviar is softer than traditional Caviar. The general shape is a big more casual, which suits my lifestyle perfectly!

The back of the bag still has the slip pocket, like the Classic Flaps. And I love the Ruthenium Hardware (although for some reason the pictures make it look more silver than it really is!).

Congrats on your new and forever flap! Happy very early 30th bday and yay to being almost done with your residency! Fellowship will fly by if you decide to do it now that you're at the end of the tunnel! Enjoy your beautiful flap!

I also like that the N&F Flap has an inside flap that's big enough to fit my cellphone, or to use it as a makeup compartment to stuff my essentials without needed to fit another makeup bag or for my LV zippy coin wallet.

The inside, as I've shown, has a zipper at the back of the inside compartment (barely noticeable). It's a pretty generous size and I'll likely end up sticking my keys. there The bag can fit my Ray Bans with case, a card case, iPhone, keys, and some makeup (lipgloss, concealer, eyeliner) if you play around with where you put stuff.

The bag is super light and appears to be low maintenance, as far as Chanel Flaps go. I only wish they'd made a slip pocket that I could stick other things into opposite of the zip compartment, but otherwise the bag is well designed!

And there are nice details, like the stitched CC on the inside of the flap, and it's easy to get in and out of it, since it's a single flap! I like convenience too!

Thanks for looking! I'll post some mod pictures in a bit!

Yes, luckily if I do Fellowship, it's only a year or two!
