Could someone explain to a Chanel newbie what you mean with "the wings"? Are the sides of the bag pushing out or something?

i've recently returned from vacation where i returned my maxi i am so upset, but as i was modeling for my friends, it started having wings!
thank you for the warm welcome! i am now on a search for my next "first" chanel! maybe a vintage jumbo xl...

luckily for me just before the return policy ran out it's really too bad, such a beautiful bag...but i bought the maxi so i could load it up. after two weeks i guess it couldn't take the weight any longer!! i'm sure i will find another replacement soon! thanks everyone
