I've recently accomplished a big milestone in my life and am looking to get my first Chanel. I really love the classic flap and instead of going with a neutral or black, I want to buy something that's really eye-catching and intricate (yes, I'm willing to pony the extra $$$$$$).
I would one day like to have a small collection of these art pieces.
My heart is set on this beauty and FYI, it will not be an 'every day' bag for obvious reasons.

I would appreciate any input from those who have similar styles (or this style itself) or Chanel sequin bag owners, regarding quality issues and care.

I'd worried how well the sequins will hold up overtime, and when times for a repair, how good of a job they can do and if they can find you the matching sequin pieces at all, say few years down the road. From my personal experience, Chanel's after sale services aren't the best, especially when you need to repair seasonal/LE pieces like this.
Thank you, this information is crucial for me to make my decision.

I love sequin flaps, but maybe you can start smaller, just to confirm you even like them enough to commit to such a big expenditure?
I have read complaints that they do not keep their shape as well, and snag on clothing. I haven’t lost any sequins (that I know of) but I also have a pattern where it wouldn’t be noticeable.
The one you posted above is $28500- there are minis available starting at $5000.

Sequins is literally just this....see pic.

Sequin flaps are for special occasions. The makeup of sequins is small plastic/ metal pieces dipped in some kind of color and they are threaded together. Over time all sequins lose the color they are dipped in, making the piece of clothing or handbag kind of mismatched and odd. Not to mention rubbing sequins against your body, sequins will not lie flat, they will be kind of messed up, hence for special occasions only with special handling.

For your first Chanel, and if you want a stunning/ stand out piece, why not go for lambskin in a beautiful color? Window shop and in-store shop until you find something that makes you fall in love. Happy shopping.

The color is gorgeous. As someone who was also drooling over the sequin, I gracefully declined when the associate told me the price. Planned to spend $11-15,000, not $28,000.

For $28,000 and you intend on placing a down payment, I suggest a classic Chanel piece that will retain its value. The boring lambskins and caviars in the basic colors. Also please remember sequins scrape and pinch the skin, its difficult to wear dresses or short sleeves.

If you want a cost effective option I found this for you: https://www.fashionphile.com/shop?search=chanel sequin&categories=beaded&sort=relevance

Guys, sorry to resurrect this thread, but I've got my heart really set on the sequin.

My boutique here in Canada/Toronto hasn't received it yet.

Does anyone know if the sequin flap is out yet? Also, I scoured the 23s thread and didn't find any IRL pics; can anyone direct me to some actual photos of the bag?

Saw the sequin in person yesterday at the Houston, TX Boutique. She is DIVINE!!! The colors are so lovely but the SA warned me these bags are not for daily use. Three sequins on the top left near the chain were starting to lift just from people looking at her. I remember this distinctly because I was so sad to see this wear so soon.
