I haven't bought a new bag in over 15 months. That's partly because I have so many bags that I really am trying to only buy bags that are special and different from bags that I already have; but also because there haven't been many opportunities to wear new bags over the last year!

During this long dry spell I've had 2 Coach Giftcards (gifts from my sweet DH) that were collectively worth over $200 - just burning a hole in my Coach wallet(s) - but I resisted making an impulsive purchase.

But now I've finally found a bag I really like at an attractive price so I went for it!

Any guesses about which bag finally tempted me to spend those Giftcards?

I visited the local Coach boutique store a few months ago when things started to open up again and I was attracted to this bag but not to the $500 price. Like I said, I already have lots of bags and I am trying to be conservative about buying and spending.

I enquired about the chance of a sale and the SA confidently told me "This bag won't go on sale, it will sell out first!" but I disagreed and so I didn't buy.

Later I saw that it was on sale for around 30% off and I almost bought it but I decided to wait. It's a large, plain bag and an unusual color so it occured to me that it might not be attractive to a lot of people. Then Nordstrom offered a a good price during a sale but I wanted to use my Coach giftcards so I passed.

But when Coach marked it down to 50% off I said "Sold!" and I actually only had to pay $39 out-of-pocket because of my Giftcards!

So now all I have to do is enjoy this lovely new bag!
