Hey all,

I recently made the plunge into Balenciaga for real. I had once bought a mini city in Vert Jade but sold it because the leather was super papery and later on I also bought a papier mini in Bleu Lavande but also returned it because it was very, very small and the shoulder strap seemed thin (and therefore would destroy my shoulder).

Fast forward to now, I have been searching for the perfect pink bag for a very, very long time. Pinks tend to either be too nude or too fuschia to me. I played with the idea of pale magenta but decided that too would be too purple. Enter 2010 sorbet.

Sorbet is really the perfect middle ground between the super light bubblegum (beautiful but easy to ruin) and the very purple toned amethyst/pale magenta family. Sorbet is what I think of when I think of a bubblegum wrapper.

I bought the bag second hand from a lovely lady on ebay (at the time this was the oldest bag I have ever bought, my previous oldest was a Proenza from 2012). The bag had some minor issues, some rusting on a zipper, a small tear. I talked about those issues in this thread http://forum.purseblog.com/balencia...zippers-and-what-to-do-about-them-879093.html if you want to see "before" photos. After fixing up the tear (and any loose piping) with Aleene's fabric fusion, polishing away the tarnish on the zipper with a jewelers cloth, treating the whole bag with leather honey (she was pretty dried out), and protecting the corners with a satin finish she's ready to go! Still undecided if I should also spray with collonil, I've heard leather honey + water protectant leads to stickiness.

Here she is, very saturated and smooshy. I've heard some sorbets suffer from fading, but this bag seems to not have that issue.

Gorgeous bag! I couldn't tell it had a small tear until I visited your other thread that had the before pictures. By the way, I see in your signature that you purchased a 2005 magenta twiggy. Can't wait to see your reveal of that bag!

I'm glad the tear repair worked out. It's lucky it was very small and on a spot where it couldn't really get any bigger too.

I'm hoping the twiggy gets here tomorrow and it's everything I hope it will be! Thank you :P

Your bag turned out gorg! What satin finish did you use on the corners?

Good job with the restoration! Very nice bag.

Funny catching you here on the Bal subforum, Robyn Loraine. Not sure if you remember, but I think you were asking around about the Prada saffiano some months back on the Prada Subforum, and I replied. I also sent you a PM asking how that turned out (not sure if you ever replied - no worries if you didn't ;) ).

I see you've been sucked into the fabulous world of pre-owned Bals  I got sucked in myself! My first 2 Bals were brand new and the latest season at that time, but when I finally took the plunge and decided to buy pre-owned for the great chevre leather and the colors, there was no turning back. I also love how you can buy 2 to even 4 of the pre-loved ones in good to mint condition, for the price of one brand new bag. The hunt is also exciting. Such fun :graucho:

Congrats on your bag again!
