I found and fell in love with this 12.80 carat Paraiba Tourmaline and decided to buy it. It's 14mm, and my jeweler was very busy and not too thrilled at having to built a custom setting for it with all of his current orders, so I found a white gold setting online and decided to try it myself.
I must admit I'm very happy with the result! It's a simple solitaire on a rope chain and it looks fabulous-- and buying the stone and building it myself was incredibly inexpensive when compared with how much it would have cost me to get it from a jeweler. So here it is, my new Paraiba tourmaline solitaire necklace!
Now I'm thinking I want to make more! It's a pretty cool feeling to have a custom piece I actually made when people ask about it :shame: and it's not crooked in the setting; it's just the angle of the pics
