Hi everybody!

I have always been obsessed with LV which is why every single bag I own is LV. I wanted to branch out a bit and after much research I decided on the AW Rockie for my birthday gift to myself.

I love this bag I think it's so chic looking however the weight has me concerned. I knew it was heavy but I guess you need to actually hold it yourself. I'm so torn as to what to do. My LV speedy bags are as light as a feather however this bag to me feels full when it's empty but i still love it. Anyways here it is for now my first AW :smile1:

Sorry if pics are sideways I'm using my iPad.

Me with my Rockie

Interesting, it really seems like we all get used to a certain weight of bag. I've always carried fairly heavy bags and I don't notice the weight of the Rockie at all which is weird because I'm really small...but in the end I think that too many of us have a closet full of bags we end up selling because we keep stuff that doesn't work for us. I kept my Balenciaga City for months and didn't carry it because I knew it wasn't the right shape for me...the Rockie does look good on you though! Maybe the mini...

Thanks you. I'm concerned the mini may be too mini as the Rockie fit all my stuff perfectly. I think I just need to get use to weight. I really love it more and more each time I look at it.

I do have a couple questions. The pipping up top has a couple very minor pealing is that something to be concerned about? Also should I use a leather conditioner?

There are people with way more experience than I...look under the AW reference library , AW bag care and maintenance.:smile1:

Oh ok thank you so much. I actually looked for a reference library but didn't see one at first but after you mentioned it I found it :smile1:

Love it! Yeah, AW handbags with studs are incredibly heavy even when empty. I still remember carrying my first AW bag (a black pebbled Morgan) for the first time and being shocked at how heavy it was. Your Rockie is absolutely gorgeous though and probably my favorite design.

Thank you so much. I'm still on the fence but I'm most likely keeping it. How has your AW held up?

I purchased my Rockie in March and have used it every day since, still looks fine, I have the matte black studs and some of the black is wearing off with a rose gold metal colour showing through on a few of the corner studs or on the exterior edges, but I don't baby my bags. It's wear, not chipping BTW.

That bag is gorgeous! I always carry AW studded bags (my fav are the Diegos, but I think I am in a minority here ), so I freak out when I carry lighter bags because I always think I have forgotten something!

I was never a fan of the Diego, but I went to Holts last week and tried one on

I honestly love the Diego (but I adore bucket bags in general). I actually find the Diego so user-friendly and everything is nicely to hand and easy to access when wearing it. However, I think I am again alone in thinking this, because most people say the complete opposite (!) Oh well, more Diegos for me!

As for piping problems, your Rockie looks like it is calfskin? My Diegos are calfskin and I much prefer that leather because it seems thicker, as well as looking classier. I once bought a lambskin Diego and the leather was so soft, but it made the bag look so tatty and worn and really scruffy. I did not like it, so returned it. I could imagine piping problems being more common on bags made with the pebbled lambskin. From experience, the calfskin seems really hardwearing and durable. You should be fine.

Thank you. Yes I stay away from anything lambskin as I do not personally like how it ages. I decided to return my Rockie as I felt like when I put my stuff in the bag the weight was too much for my bad back. I miss it already! It was such a gorgeous bag but I have to keep in mind what is best for me. I ordered an LV Epi leather piece which is much lighter and more practical for my needs.
