Hey everyone ! hopefully i posted this in the right place, it's not about how to fix damage and it's not about shopping in store so i figured id put it here :).

I posted a while ago about my lovely new McQueen bag, 1 month in and its already faulty ! the lining on an interior pocket came away from its stitching so i emailed customer service hoping for a new one to be sent out but instead i have a dilemma ! :rain: .

They have said i can return it for a refund and order a different bag...thats it. i love my bag and i dont really want to give it up , they gave me 10% off my next purchase but i was really hoping for a replacement or an offer to repair it, there website show no stock of my bag so maybe they sold out and the only other bag i like is the legend but its more expensive even with the 10% off.

What do you think guys ? return it and buy a different bag, return it and buy another McQueen with the 10% off or keep it and accept my fate.

Im so heart broken :pout:

I think before I made the final decision, I'd check into a couple of places near me (tailor, cobbler?) and get estimates for the repair. Depending on how much that is would help me to decide. If it was a reasonable amt for me, I'd go ahead and get it repaired myself, hang onto the 10% in case something else catches my eye someday but once I sorted it out, I'd finish by writing a polite but firm letter to the company letting them know what had happened and expressing my disappointment with their customer service. I wouldn't threaten to never darken their door again; I'd leave it open for them to hopefully rectify this in the future.

Edited to add: I wouldn't write that letter to customer service. It would be addressed to someone in corporate. A marketing director or VP.......

I'm sorry this happened on your Christmas gift. I know how much of a let down these things can be when buying a luxury item.

If you really love it and will carry it despite this, I'd say either look for one at another retailer and returning this one to McQueen or see about having it repaired. If it makes you not want to carry it anymore, return it and buy something you'll love and carry.

Thanks for the reply, Iv been figuring it out all week and after a few days of calls iv finally returned it :thinkin:.

They offered no repair, no replacement only my money back and when i pushed for a partial refund they only offered me £45 (i laughed when they told me). at the end of the day this bag is my only day bag and i cant be worried about it ripping all the time so im gonna either find a new bag or get another from a different shop.
