And the information about department stores carrying fake bags is surprising, I never knew that it existed.

Does this mean I should only buy them in the actual MJ store?

You can always buy through a dept store, just make sure you check the details thoroughly to see if anything looks off. You can also compare two bags together, if they're exactly the same then you should be ok. Plus, you can take the one that's in better condition(no scratches, etc).
