I wanted a nice solid leather bag. My bags tend to get thrown around a lot because of my job.
I originally wanted a Lucky Brand hobo but I came across this bad on the bay. It has an ink mark but other than that it's not that bad. I hope to mix some paint with conditioner to cover the ink.

I dunked it and scrubbed the corners a bit. The bag wasn't that dirty and just letting it soak got most of the dirt off. I'm hoping the conditioner gets the rest.

I can't wait for her to dry so I can apply the conditioner!

She turned out really nice!! Love that color too!

I'm still working on her. I have a long way to go. All the scratches and worn spots need filled in as well as the ink spot. She really needed conditioner. After about 3 coats, she is finally smooshy. I never thought this bag was smooshy. Lol.

wow!!!

looks good!! what products are you using?

i just refinished dunking an 80s stirrup/bit awl bag in dawn and baking soda. she came out so much cleaner, and am now waiting on a conditioner order to arrive to finish her.

may i ask how you learned how to do this?? i 'm just picking it up from other posters, thanks to their generous sharing... :ty:

I've been using leather CPR. I let it soak in water and ivory dish soap (only kind I had).

I always did signature bags with good results. This is my first venture into leather. The gals in the coach rehab thread have helped me. I had a basic idea, I just needed some questions answered. If you need help, just ask!

I love doing this. I seriously think loving doing it is what gives good results. Lol.

Oh and I'm about to order blackrocks conditioner too. I like really shiny bags.
aha!! that's what i'm waiting on!! there's a poster named "doc ride" (?) -on the hermes forum who advises on care for their leathers. she mentioned this, and also oberhoffs-- (sp?), as products which work well under certain circumstances.

figured if it was. good enough for hermes...
