I was always curious about this bag, but never heard much buzz about it. Reviews online were positive, but for the price I wasn't interested enough to buy it sight unseen. It popped up on the Cyber Sale for 40% and suddenly I became interested again. I got it today. I chose standard shipping, but it was shipped overnight anyway (not that I am complaining). I got it gift boxed because it is going to be my birthday present to myself. When I opened the box I was blown away. It even came in a fabled black Coach dustbag. In my opinion, the description that Coach gave did not do this bag justice. It is a heavier pebbled leather and all the hardware is the heavy gunmetal, very industrial (they did get that right). My rip and repair bag charm looks great on it too. What was a pleasant surprise was the rivets. They are black with multicolored sparkles in them. They look like little galaxies. A co-worker pointed out it is like Star Wars. Yesh..this is my Star Wars bag. The rivets on the strap wrap around like a bandolier. I would compare it to a Kelsey. It is bigger than the small and fits all my stuff with room to spare. Too bad it is gone from the site now. I am sure a lot of people would have liked the industrial edge to this bag.

Very nice! I didn't realize the studs were lacquered like that. And that bag charm looks great with it too!! I hope they come out with this bag charm - or even a similar one - to buy. YAY and Happy Birthday!

Congrats. I thought this bag was special as well but I decided not to get any more black bags + I am trying to downsize. BTW, I almost caved in and wanted to get the saddle bag. Do you still own and use yours? I read your post on quality issues and so wanted to check.

I love the black on black, and the added 'galaxies' into the studs make it so perfect, congratulations! :D

Congratulations on a great find! I love the detailing on this.....I hope it pops back up on the Winter Sale (or whatever they're calling the sale that starts 12/4)!

This bag is so pretty. The rivets are beautiful. Do you know what it is called? I remember seeing this bag in one of the spring colors on the model pictures, but I never saw it for sale. I am curious if the bag holds its shape or is a bit slouchy?

Also, what's the significance of black dust bags from Coach?

I'm not sure, but I know that the entire CoachXPeanuts line used them (to go with the special black box packaging). I don't know what other bags have them. My last 2 non-Peanuts bags had the white dustbags.

It is called the Central Satchel in Lacquer Rivets. It also came in a pink color. I would assume it would get slouch ire over time. Some of the stock photos show it having a slouch, but I can't get it to get into that shape. I am hoping it will soften up a bit as I use it more.
