When I went to put on my Cartier Vendome watch this morning, I noticed that the crystal had fogged up. It’s better now, but I don’t want the moisture to damage the face or mechanism. I reached out to my SA and I’m bringing in the watch this weekend.

Anyone else have experience with this issue? The attached photo is of the foggy Vendome next to my TF for comparison.9BAE8D4A-97DE-437F-A8DB-3D8B0EFE932D.jpeg

Your watch definitely needs attention. Cartier will be able to diagnose and fix the problem...might be an issue with water coming in the crown or around the edges of the crystal. You’re very smart to take it in right away and it’s great that you have a photo of what you’re talking about. They’ll get it fixed!

I had a big scratch on my TF crystal, when I took it in for a battery replacement they sent it in for repair and replaced the crystal (at a cost of course). Cartier will likely suggest replacement of the crystal and an overhaul of the timepiece.

The watch definitely has moisture or water inside it. Not sure when you last had it serviced and had the rubber gaskets replaced. If you wore it in a pool, or shower/bath? The two watches you have are have what is considered very minimal water resistance. They can get washed/rinsed off quickly but should not be worn in a swimming pool or shower. Definitely get it to a service center as soon as possible so that the dial doesn't get discolored or develop spots. Wishing you lots of luck with your watch.

The watch is already with Cartier for servicing. I didn’t wear it in the pool or the shower but I live in a very humid area. Hopefully, the issue is nipped in the bud and my watch will come back with many more years of life ahead of it.

As a side note, the SA told me that Cartier was offering complementary servicing of TF watches, so I sent my TF in as well. I’m watchless for a month or so, until I get them back, but I couldn’t let that bargain pass!

If the watch hadn't been serviced in a long time, the rubber gaskets that keep moisture and humidity out, may have become cracked or disintegrated, thereby letting moisture and humidity into the watch. Living in a very humid area, you may want to consider servicing the watches maybe every 5 years or so to replace the rubber gaskets. Glad to hear you got the watch is already in the service department!

How old is your TF? Also, are you in the US? I didn't know they were offering complimentary service on TFs? If its complimentary in the US, then I'll send mine in also. Thank you in advance!

Yes, I do live in the US. I bought my TF preloved about 10 -12 years ago. I’m not sure if that complementary service is just for September, so I’d check into that ASAP.
