LOL - okay so even though I've been adding a few too many reveals to this forum, my true weakness is clothing - specifically dresses - and I seem to not be able to go 3 days without ordering more online from Shopbop, Net-A-Porter, Revolve, Saks or Neimans's. It's those EMAILS that get me!!! I get bored at my desk and so click on them and it's all over.

SO... I'm making myself a pact as a New Year's Resolution, because even I'm starting to realize I have WAY too many dresses (party dresses are my weakness!) Our production will be over at the end of March and I'll be on vacation in Florida where there is a Cartier boutique. I've promised myself if I can make it to the end of the production without buying any clothes online I can buy myself the love bracelet (the one on the chain with the interlocking circles for $1350) to go with my new VCA alhambra bracelet. :yahoo: Ironically I'd spend WAY more than that on clothes over 3 months without this little self-made deal so it really would be good for my family. I need help saving for this though!!

Anyone else on a shopping ban? Hopefully I'll be sharing my first Cartier purchase here in April with you all!! Wish me luck!!!:smile1:

Lol surfergirl, I too am on something similar, I'm going to buy a bracelet that I've wanted for a while but I'm not allowed to have it until I've lost the weight I put on over Xmas plus a bit more lol & then when I've lost the weight DH will give me the bracelet that his hidden so let's hope I don't take too long lol:nuts:

Good luck and GREAT idea. I think it will work! You have a great incentive to get you by.

I am doing something similar. I have stopped buying clothes for several months, my closets are already over flowing, in order to save and invest in a high end watch.

I also just binged on Cartier (pics are in "Post Your Non-Hermes Indulgence") so I know this must take a REAL will power from you!
But then again....we only live once...this is a new year...oh well....GO FOR IT!! :-D

Ha! I should add a 10 lb addendum to my little pledge and then I can get a love bracelet! If I went 3 months without shopping AND lost 10 lbs I'd deserve it! :D GOOD LUCK!!!

Good luck! I find I have the same problem with clothes - very easy to impulse buy and end up with a closet full of stuff I never wear. I have been consigning a lot of clothes recently and have found so many with tags still attached that I cringe at what I could have used that $ for. I need to start cutting down on the handbags and shoes as well. I thought I had all the key jewelry pieces I wanted, but now find myself lusting after the VCA pave magic alhambra pendant and need to really cut back if I want to purchase it.

Yay! this is great OP, I'm actually doing something similar (like a few others have posted, lol). I need to stop giving into my impluses!! I'm personally banning myself from clothes and handbags right now realizing that I never end up using most of it and it's a waste of money!

Bently1, saving for a watch?! Me too, I'm saving for a cartier watch! :)
Hopefully I can keep this up and in a few months have one for everyday use!
