I haven't posted in awhile but have been digging though all of these great diamond threads so I though I'd share!
Initially, I was planning on resetting my 1 carat engagement ring into a new setting. I wanted to put the solitaire into a halo. I finally dragged DH into our jeweler and he thought it looked like I was just trying to make my diamond look larger. Our plan had always been to upgrade my ring at some point so we decided to look at some loose diamonds.
We fell in love with a round 2.23 SI2 (eye clean) F excellent cut stone. It has strong blue fluorescence but no milky/oily affects. In direct sunlight you see a very subtle *hint* of blue. It has so much fire!

It turned out even better than I was expecting!
Here it is!! I've had it a few weeks but just received my band. The setting is a platinum Tacori 2620 in large with a platinum Henri Daussi eternity band. I prefer to mix and match rather than have a matching set.
Can't keep my eyes off it!!
