  1. I just got a pair of pants and they smell really musty and Im not sure what to do.

One of my friends is telling me to steam it and it'll be ok. I was thinking of getting it dry cleaned but not sure if that'll get the smell out? What can I do?

    Thanks

  2. You could try airing them out for a few days first.

I would try the other two suggestions if the smell is really gross after a few days.

  3. Definitely air out if you can; typically dry cleaning will do the trick.

  4. Air them out like previously stated and then if that does not help bring them to the dry cleaners !

  5. I have the same problem with my coat. After a few wears the smell got away

  6. Thanks everyone.

I've been airing them out for the past couple days and it hasn't gotten any better so will send them to the cleaners! Hope it works

  7. Steam should work. It breaks up the smell molecule.

  8. Really?

What are the chemical components of the "smell" molecule?

(I'm serious! I'm trying to learn more about chemistry.)
