Hi, I ordered the 90 cm silk Murakami scarf in white
I opened it yesterday, I’ve been really excited waiting to receive it and I felt very flat about it when I opened it

It’s really lovely, I love the print, I have a bag from the original collection and just wanted something small to go with my collection this time. I’ve got the cosmetic pouch this time which is beautiful.

But I felt flat when I opened the scarf.

I don’t even really know why, although it’s not 100% white it’s more an off white which I found a bit disappointing seeing as the bag is so white. I ordered over the phone via the concierge because it wasn’t available online and I don’t live near a store, so I couldn’t go and see it in real life. I’m not too keen on the coloured stripes all around the edges I feel it really stands out and takes away from the monogram print which to me is the main event.

I also found for a 100% silk scarf The fabric is stiff for one of a better word. I wanted a silk scarf that would drape in the way that fine chiffon like silk drapes and I’m finding it quite a hard fabric like cotton that’s been starched. When I try to style it, it’s quite difficult because it doesn’t drape in the way it should and it kind of sticks up or sticks out.

I’m going to buy one of the mammogram classic shawls in poudre pink which I’ve seen in real life and will drape the way I want it to

I’m also concerned if I keep them Murakami monogram scarf I’m not quite sure how I will style it as in what will I wear it with. I was wearing a black top when I was trying it on and I didn’t feel like it really went with that, so I’m concerned it’s just a spring summer peice rather than something I can wear all year round.

I think, if I had the monogram classic shawls in pink and the Murakami monogram white scarf in front of me and I could only pick one it would probably be the pink because I could pretty much wear it with everything. It would be very versatile all year round with most outfits and I’m worried the Murakami white monogram firstly wouldn’t go with everything so it would be difficult to style and quite honestly I’m feeling like I’m just going to fall out with the fabric because I can’t quite get it to sit right so I probably end up just taking it off and going with something else and then we’ll just have it somewhere on display in my bedroom so I can look at it because it’s beautiful.

Now that I’ve said this all out loud, I think it sounds like I’m going to be returning it, doesn’t it?

Any thoughts, anyone?

I agree with goodcrush above, your post makes it seem like you have already made up your mind, but are still trying to convince yourself you've made the right choice. If it doesn't work for you, I'm sure there will be someone that is still stalking the website or harassing their CA about a restock that would be overjoyed to buy it once you've returned it!

So I ordered both of the bigger monogram multicolor shawls. I have lots of monogram shawls and I love them and wear them often, so I was super excited for these despite the high price tag. When they arrived I was very underwhelmed. They weren’t nearly as soft as alll of my other ones and I knew I wouldn’t get any use out of them so I retuned them to the store. As I was returning a woman saw me and tried to convince me to keep them. She was very convincing I must say. But I stuck to my guns and she ended up buying them.

I was worried I would regret it, but I’d much rather drop 2k on something I’ll get use out of.

I got mine to frame! Also did the black 90, which I actually prefer over the white, but wanted to get both to make it a set. Is framing it an option or not really your thing?

Send it back. It's just a scarf, and you don't like it.

By the way, the striped edges have always been a feature of this scarf since the original Murakami Multicolore release.
I know, I just never seen it in person. If I’d been able to get to a store, I don’t think I would’ve bought it. It’s a shame because it really detracts from the coloured monogram

Yes, I just replied to Another message saying that sometimes when you say it out loud suddenly it makes sense. You’re right I’m trying to convince myself I’m making the right choice by sending it back because I think I know it’s the right thing to do, but it also makes me a little bit sad because I wanted to love it And I just don’t and it’s too expensive for something that I don’t love

Completely agree. I know how you feel. I opened up the packaging was very excited and boy was it disappointing. Like I said, I just felt completely flat about it and I so wanted to love it.
I looked at the shawl but couldn’t bring myself to spend that amount of money on it
I’m sending this back. I think we both done the right thing.

Interesting idea. I’ve seen a few people say this whilst googling. Personally, I think it’s too big to frame. If I was going to frame it, I’d get the 55 cm size. But that’s not really my thing unfortunately. I’m going to be returning this. I’m sure it will make someone else very happy.

Actually the 90cms are very good for framing if you have the wall space for it! But a proper framing costs more than the scarf itself so you really have to love the print. I framed up Hermes Parures du Samourais 90cm scarf because it’s one of my favourite print designs.

But if you intended to buy it for wearing then no point for you to pivot it into wall art either, honestly.
