I've just bought this bag from a charity shop, it was only 4.50 so I'm not fussed if it's fake or anything. Could any of you lend me your expertise? :shame:

Greatly appreciated.

Hi Juice Box...It's fake. Sorry to disappoint you. I'm just glad it was so cheap and for charity, because this is possibly the worst attempt at a knock-off I've ever seen!
Before I set up my own company I designed for many luxury brands.
I was head of leather goods design for Mulberry for 9 years from 89-98, and it's not one of mine or anything earlier.
It's curious as it seems to have a mishmash of different logo styles that they used from before my time there to after my time there! The logo in the 2nd photo they stopped using in the early 1990s.
The blurry first photo seems to say made in China. Mulberry did not make any handbags in China before or during my time there, but they did start to make wheelie type luggage in China/Korea around 1996/7. They now make a huge quantity in China, sadly.
I understand they are trying to bring a lot of their production back to Britain, if they can rebuild the local skills before they totally dissappear, which is nice to know.
Hope this helps!!

Hi Judy Brown,

I saw your response and I was eyeing an Araline in ebay. The bag comes with a black tag and I'm just wondering if it's a sign of a fake.

Thanks

Good to have a Mulberry expert on here now.

Juicebox sorry if it has turned out fake, It looks a cute bag and if you are happy carrying it then go for it. Plus you only paid £4.50 so go for it if you like.
