I have many silver/white gold bracelets, earrings and necklaces. Its all I have worn for years. Lately I have been into yellow gold , ippolita bangles , roberto coin. I went nutts and bought some nice bangles and necklaces. I also just bought(before my big ban ;)) more DY silver with pave diamonds bracelets. Now that I have been getting the 18 k YG, the David Yurman looks blah! Did anyone else change over to loving YG after collecting DY. I do love having a choice of both, but the DY looks so played out. Do you think DY still looks fresh and new? Opinions welcome

My only DY piece happens to be yellow gold and I think it's gorgeous every time I put it on. My doctor actually asked if it was an heirloom piece.

Most of the silver pieces never attracted me.

Thats a pretty ring! I love the garnet.

Thank you! My husband originally planned to purchase the silver version with amethyst (or whatever purple stone they use), but saw the gold and garnet ring in the showcase at the last second and changed his mind because it was so much nicer in his eyes.

I would consider getting one of the large Topaz Albion rings in silver. I loved the big and bold look in the store. No more buying for the New Year, though. :shrugs:

I love DY. I actually have a pair of earring on layaway. I was hoping to get them for Christmas, but I probably won't get them now until my birthday in March.
For what it's worth, I wear white and gold metals together all the time. Sometimes I am really into my white metals and other times I just can't get enough of the yellow! So I embrace it all.......:)

sjunky13, I would love to see pictures of your DY stuff sometime! I had a few of the 5mm cable bracelets which I LOVED, but I ended up selling them. I recently got a J12 watch, and I just thought the bracelets looked funny for some reason with the white ceramic, even though I wore them on the opposite wrist of my watch.

I still love DY and do not considered it played out at all!

I LOVE David Yurman!! he is always coming out with new styles! It is hard to imagine such classic & timeless jewelry to EVER be played out! I just love his classic pieces that he has been making for years! Whenever I wear Yurman I get loads of compliments, even from people not familar with Yurman drool over it! lol I have some solid gold pieces and love them as well.
Imo you just can't go wrong with Yurman, a true jewelry investment! I still wear my pieces purchased years ago with my new pieces!

I was into 'silver/white gold' pieces in my teens & early 20's, then moved into 14k for a few years. Maybe by 30 was into 18K which is still my favorite now. Also like rose gold. Its what looks the best with my skin tone. I buy what looks best on me, could careless about what's in fashion.

I love rose gold, it flatters almost any skintone. And I love pieces that combine the 3 types of gold together, like Cartier's Trinity collection, and Pomellato's Tubar ring.

I dont mean to offend any DY fans, I mean played out on my skin. I would still buy his stuff, Im looking at his YG peices. Im thinking the silver peices bore me, maybe its just a phase or like VLL said as she got older she prefered warmer colors on her skin. Who knows?? I have recent got a peice from my grandmothers. It is a YG solid heard, brushed gold with saphires embedded in it. That started my yellow gold thing. I wanted to wear the peices I had gotten from my family and just went along with my usually obsessive ways and bought YG bracelets, earrings, necklaces. And its only certain silvers, some dy peices that dont even look silver after polishing for an hour. they look like steel, no shine at all. Those peices look awefull on my skin. I wonder if he changed his silver or mixes it with something. It just doesnt pop as much on me, looks dull. I will post pics today.

One thing I have noticed on my skin is that I seem to favor white metals more in the summer. I have pretty sallow asian skin and dark hair; I live in Louisiana so I tend to get a bit darker in the summer. The white just POPS on me then.
In the fall/winter months, I seem to favor the yellow more.
I've always heard that you automatically favor what suits you best, so maybe you are like me and need both colors, but at different times of the year?

I love yellow gold too and DY. I have a DY silver braceket and wear it with thin gold bangles all the time. I always mix gold and silver together, especially because DY does that in a lot of his jewlery too.
