Hi guys,

So I have gotten an amazing job opportunity that will unfortunately have me moving cities in a couple of months. I love my Hermes SA and my home store and I would prefer to continue shopping with him rather than moving to a new store in a city that is probably just as if not more competitive. How do you guys recommend asking my SA to continue the relationship? I’m happy to have them ship the items I want to purchase and then flying out if I do ever receive a bag offer?

Would this be annoying for an SA? Would they rather not keep me as a client and will I ultimately move to the bottom of the list for future wish list requests?

Keep your SA if you like them. I shop out of state even though there are two large boutiques nearby. They ship everything, including bags.

We video chat if I need something, but generally I am a decisive shopper and I just send a list of what I want, and it gets fedexed over.

The only person who can give you an authoritative answer to your questions is your SA.
An honest conversation should be easy.
Your SA should respect you for it.
Just outline the situation and how you would like to continue.

Yep, I'm a remote shopper too, also across countries and oceans. No problems with getting stuff or bag offers. Congrats on your new job @Catlana !
Wow, I am interested in this and have so many questions. So your SA in an entirely different country ships you things to your residence?
Is there a shipping charge involved? Do you pay in local currency? Do you communicate via email or text or phone?

Same here - please, do tell (or start a new thread??).

I'm sure there are many other members here who also do this, as @acrowcounted said!
It's not a big deal. Every now and then I have specific pieces shipped to me (in my case, usually RTW). Yes, there is a shipping charge, and usually a hefty duty tax. It's just like when you get stuff from your local SA and they send you a payment link and ship it to you. No different... except the duty tax. :shrugs:

First of all - congratulations!
To jump in, I am (now) a remote client! I recently moved to Portland, but love my SA. Before I moved, I actually asked her if she would be able to keep me as her client. I told her that I know the store would much prefer in-store clients (probably tmi) but I love our relationship. She said of course :)

Hermes is supposed to be opening up a store in Portland as well in the near future, but I would still stick with my current SA 100% just because of the relationship (I'm a very much so relationship-driven person).

Although Portland has no sales tax….. :graucho:

This is the way :)

Because I live between two countries, things get sent back and forth a lot. As long as you can stomach the duties  it's not an issue.
Even easier when it's long distance purchasing within the country though!

I am also in Portland but I really don’t want to get my hopes up of Hermes opening here. We’ve had so many places say they would open and they pull out of the space before renting or building. Still waiting on hermes and cartier though
