Pandorabox's thread was getting a bit long and I had some other questions I wanted to ask about the Hamilton totes. I've never bought a MK bag before, normally stick to Coach but I saw Crissy's thread in the Coach forum about choosing between the Hamiltons and the Kristens and fell in love with the Hamilton style. I've been looking for a nice bag for going back to school and couldn't find anything from Coach that I liked that would be appropriate.
My questions are:

Would it be good for a school bag? I normally carry just a binder and small paperback textbook. Very rarely do I bring my 13" laptop. I don't carry enough to need a bookbag and wanted something I could get more use out of.

What size would be good? I looked through the reference thread but have a hard time imagining the actual sizes of bags. The large totes look pretty big and since I won't be carrying much I don't know if I would need that large of a bag. Also I'm 5'4, small frame, about 145 and don't want to look overwhelmed by a huge bag. Would the N/S or E/W ones make a difference to any of this?

And probably most difficult, color. I have a few black bags and the Coach Ashley in bone, so I don't think I would want the black or vanilla. But I don't care for any sort or brown/taupe/luggage shade and it wouldn't match anything I own. Any other color recommendations? I think the Claret is beautiful but don't know if I'm that brave :wondering

I would think you would need the large. The medium is too small for a binder & book unless that is all you are carrying. The leather tend to soften and the bags feels smaller after it breaks in.

Black is beautiful with the silver hw, but I understand not needing another black. What about indigo or purple? Indigo isn't as dark as a navy blue. I have found that it seems to match just about everything I own.

Do you have an MK store near you where you can go check these out irl?

Hi Chelle Belle - I can't really add too much to what sandc has said. You definetely will need the large - the medium is about the same size as the small Sabrina or Ashley or Audrey. MK does, and has done, a ton of colors in the Hamilton and you can usually find some good deals on ebay too. You can put them on here for authentication, but the good thing about MK bags is that I don't think they are being faked yet - please chime in girls if I'm wrong. What about the beautiful slate/grey that I posted about in the Coach thread? That comes in the large size and sandc has done a reveal on it in this forum and it's gorgeous - and that color definetely works with everything!!

Thanks for the shout out on my bag, Crissy. :D I do love the slate gray. I wasn't sure if embossed was your thing or not, so I didn't mention it. I will say that it might not completely break in the way the plain leather does. If you go to the last page on my reveal thread, you will see some pics of it starting to break in if that helps.
