What do people think about having the same bag in the same print but in different sizes?
The monogram canvas Montaigne wasn’t even on my radar until I saw photos of the bag in the clubhouse and the more photos I saw, the more I liked the bag. I really like the shape of the bag, the lux fabric used for the interior, the fact that the handles can be hidden away, the canvas shoulder strap option and just how thick the canvas feels.
I found a full set GM size in like new condition on a reputable reseller‘s website thinking it would be huge but turns out it is about the same size as the Onthego MM when I put them side by side. It’s also really comfortable to wear on the shoulder since it kind of contours to your frame because of the curve in the middle if that makes sense. Further, I can get into the bag while carrying it on the shoulder and wouldn’t need to set the bag down. Then I saw some videos online about the MM size and how it makes a great everyday bag and was able to track one down from a boutique which I should receive tomorrow.
I can see myself using the GM for work conferences and times when I need a larger bag and the MM as an everyday bag in the rotation (currently, I’m using my DE Graceful MM and last month it was the Sully MM (one of my favorites by the way even if old school!)). DH has already blessed me keeping both sizes.
I really do like the shape and functionality of the Montaigne but wanted to see if you all think I’m nuts to have the same bag in two sizes. And given that the MM has been out of stock for quite some time online and only four stores in the US showed availability when I was tracking one down this week, I do wonder if this bag is getting phased out meaning getting it directly from the store in the future may not be an option later. I understand that the GM was discontinued a couple of years ago.
