Hey everyone, I just bought a monogram denim noir shawl a month ago, I'm completely in love with it. I wore it three times and each time it causes a awful rash on my neck... I dont want to wash it to soften it but not sure as to why it is causing this problem. Is there a way to soften the shawl? It is quite itchy. I'm not allergic to any of the materials... Anyone else with this issue?

Thanks for your help 😊

Are you 100% sure you don't have a mild allergy to one of the threads? I am sorry you find the shawl to be uncomfortable - but if it continues causing irritation, I would sell it and buy something that is comfortable to wear on my skin. Don't put yourself through pain! 😃

If you hand washed it, it could be the soap you're using or even whatever they use in dry cleaning if that's what you used. I personally recommend Eucalan unscented if you're not allergic to lanolin, I find it's a very mild and conditioning soap for protein fibres. It's also cheap for what it is!
Also, do you have a shine scarf? I don't own one but perhaps the metallic threads can be irritating.
Good luck and please keep us updated!

Are you allergic to silk or wool? If not, did you get a brand new shawl, untouched by other customers? The reason I ask is if another person tried it on prior and had some soap or lotion or perfume, that could be the culprit. good luck!

Sounds like a fabric allergy, same thing happens to me when I wear wool. I would just sell it and get something that isnt going to make you get a rash everytime you wear it.

Thanks everyone... Yes it was a brand new shawl out the package... And I haven't washed it yet so it can't be a soap reason... I guess selling it is the only thing I can do or wear it with turtlenecks 😁 Just sucks, I already had a list of shawls I wanted! Verona was going to be my next one 😏 Maybe I'll have better luck with the logomania . I don't ever wear wool so maybe that is what was irritating me..
