My mother has wanted a Kelly for a LONNNNNNNNNG time and I wanted to share some pictures of her Mother's Day gift.
My mother is a brilliant woman; an author, professor, one of the top women in her field. We are very, very close and I always try to get her something nice to make up for the financial struggles she endured while going to Graduate school when I was a child.
However, my mother is like the Tasmanian Devil with any type of handbag so I have hesitated about getting her anything Hermes. I finally decided that the best idea would be to give her a vintage box calf Kelly, in a 35cm size (she's tried my 28cm and felt it was way too small). So I had my 35cm Kelly cleaned at the spa and gave it to her, along with an 18K Tahitian pearl necklace that I hand-strung for her.
She LOVED it and hasn't stopped thanking me. She kissed the darn bag for 20 minutes. lol.
