Michael Kors MK python embossed purse

Hi all! Im new on this site! Im originally from Brazil and I looove purses! I have a huge collection of them! I love big leather purses from MK and Im always looking for nice deals! Last week, I found one good deal on ebay! It was a very nice used shoulder bag from MK brown Python embossed snake skin for $50 plus shipping! Of course I didn't think twice to hit the button to buy it and I was pretty content! retails of this was $350! Until it came...I mean, still a good looking purse but from close I could see the leather was very usage...not sure how describe it but because it is my first python leather purse, Im not sure if it should be like that or I just got a bad deal after all! The skin doesn't look glossy anymore, and it looks like someone got the purse and rubbish on the concret! Its looks very bad from outside looking from very close...I was wondering if is normal python embossed leather looks like that after years? Or should look like this way anyway? If does have anything I can do to threat it without spend soooo much money? Maybe a spray I can use on the leather to protect? The fact is that now I feel bad to use it not because look bad but because I dont want to damage more...I really love the purse after all...any tips? Not sure how to put picture in here, but I would love show to you guys what Im trying to say lol Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the TPF! The reason you only paid 50.00 is probably because of two reasons 1. It is USED and heavily used, or 2. If it was listed as new? It could be fake.? Is it NEW or USED??

Most of the python embossed leather does have a shine to it because they have to coat the embossing. Many think it patent leather, but it is not, it is just coated after it is embossed. Yes, this coating can wear off after hard use for many years. I don't think you can really bring the shine back with any regular leather products that I know of. You can make it look shinier, but you won't put the coating back on it.

I suggest taking it to a shoe repair store in your area? Many of them also repair handbags. They should be able to help. Did you buy it from a reputable seller? Was listed a NEW, or USED?? If the bag was listed as new, I would suspect it is not authentic. If was listed as used, having only spent 50.00 is worth spending a bit to make it nice again. Hope this helps.

Hi CinthiaZ! Thank you for your reply! The purse I bought as USED but from the pictures, it looks nice! And it does! Just the leather from the touch and looking closet you can see the purse was heavily used! just not sure if i did a good deal as not I have a leather damage purse that I know I wont use to dont damage it more the inside is also prettg dirty but it was in the description and i actualy saw on youtube for clean it to use blue dry clean spray? I bought it online and when it comes I will try it! For what is saw on the youtube videos, this spray works like a charm for coach lining ! I will try it in MK lining also! Indont see why not, just hve tonprotect the leather!Its just a foam! Oh well, i guess im stuck with it now! But like insaid, it is a very pretty purse! Im posting a picture of it for you to see!

I wouldn't be afraid to use it? If it is already worn out heavily, might as well just use it and enjoy it, until you can get another one! lol! I am sure it will hold up for for a couple of years, anyway, and for 50.00 is not going to kill you, if doesn't last forever. You have to expect that with a used bag. That's why you get hundreds off what it originally cost. I would just go ahead and enjoy it. Sounds like most of the wear has already occurred. Not having the protective coating on it really doesn't matter at this point. Just polish it and go! ,

True lol I just baby too much my purses and this one is the second one I buy that is used! Probably should be more careful with python leather! Lesson learned! Im going enjoy it and ask a new one for hubby for Christmas thank you!

FYI, it is not REAL python! It is regular leather that is python embossed. You can treat it like regular leather. I have never seen this bag before? It looks like a combo of a Fulton and a older Tristan model. Yes, it is a very pretty bag, but I hope it is authentic?
