Well it has been a while since I bought a new watch. Whoa..
Longer than I thought.

I am in love with the white watches. I stumbled on some MK ones and they are lovely and then some Fossil and Toywatches seem similar, or vice versa.

In either case can some one please help with out with all the different band?

I see - resin, - ceramic, - silicon..

I only know about metal and leather. ;-)

Can you guys please tell me the pro and cons and what all material these watches are in?

Thanks!

If you're specifically looking for a white watch, I would definitely recommend ceramic or resin.

Ceramic is heavier than the resin or silicone, but it's super easy to clean up and my ceramic MK watch has been really durable so far. I haven't noticed a single scratch on the band yet, and I've been wearing it daily since I got it. My black ceramic watch has a very shiny finish also. I love my ceramic watch; it's my favorite watch with my resin MK tortoise watch being a close second.

Resin is a smooth plastic-y type material. I have a tortoise MK watch in resin, and it's very light weight and easy to clean. Mine doesn't seem to scratch too easily either. Most resin watches have a glossy finish as well.

Silicone has that rubbery feel, is pretty lightweight, and I do like it on some watches...but I would not recommend it for white. The downside to the white silicone is that once it gets dirty, it can be very hard to clean up. I'm not sure if it's because the silicone is somewhat porous or what. Most of the other colors in the silicone watches seem to be fine since they won't show dirt as easily; only the white or lighter colors (like baby pink) seem to give trouble with dirt. Most of the silicone watches that I've seen have more of a matte finish on the band.

I think you would be able to get the most wear/durability from ceramic or resin. In case you didn't know, Fossil makes MK watches...so quality wise, you can't go wrong with either of those brands. A lot of ladies like the Toy Watches too, but I have yet to purchase one myself so I can't really comment on them too much. Hopefully some other ladies will chime in with more info.

Thank you! All very helpful info. Yes I did know about the Fossil production. They are very busy! LOL.

So you do not find the ceramic too heavy to wear? I was worried, in my head when I think ceramic, I think of my mothers vase! LOL

No problem at all!

LOL, yes Fossil has been staying busy lately it seems. I've got a handful of Fossil watches and have never had any trouble with any of them, so I decided to jump on the MK bandwagon as well.

When I first started wearing my ceramic watch, it did feel a little heavy to me. But part of that was probably because I'd been wearing my MK resin watch daily prior to getting the ceramic one, and to me the resin is practically featherweight for a watch. I got used to the ceramic really quickly though, and I don't find it to be too heavy at all now. I think I just needed an adjustment period, after being used to a lightweight watch.

Good to know. I am looking forward to checking them out in person. Thanks for all the info. I appreciate it. :-)
