I have been thinking about getting a small backpack as my purse as I have a bad back. I want something similar to the LV Palm Springs but in leather and without logos/monogram so the MCM one is out. Any suggestions. Also do you think mall backpacks look childish I am in my mid forties and don't want to look like a kid.

LC Le Foulonne, LC Parisis, Kate Spade Polly and Coach Campus come to mind. Liebeskind Urban Monogram is also pretty and you can find it in the Small the Medium sizes. Their Lotta style is also nice and basic, you can find several more colors on Zalando. I'm really liking Hugo Downtown and their quality is great. For someone who loves quilting there's TB Kira.

I don't think a small backpack makes anyone look like a kid unless you want to look like one - the way you dress and carry yourself is what makes you look a certain age.

Anyone any age can wear a backpack. I carry the Want les Essentials de la Vie nylon backpack, it's chic and very light but not "mini" per se.

I have this one and I like how light it is with my bad back.

I have a black leather coach backpack that I got a couple years ago. It's comfortable, fits what I need and I like that it's a little bit of a pain to get into. I use it primarily when we do daytrips and I like that I would feel if someone was trying to get in it. I've also seen it in outlets lately.
