Mini Reissue vs Rectangular mini?

TPF'ers, I am looking to purchase a mini bag shortly and would love to hear your feedback/experience with these two bags - rectangular mini or mini reissue. I have read some posts and watched youtube videos and see that the reissue can hold more than the rectangular, which I like, but I was also not so happy with the shape of the flap and how it doesn't stay curved and is conical.

TIA for your feedback!

ETA that I do a have medium CF and would like to go with a reissue if there isn’t an issue with the structure of the bag.

I have both. My mini reissue is my "go to" bag, since it's more understated, the calfskin is durable, easy, and fuss-free. I like my lambskin rect mini, but I'm more careful about using it (ex: making sure not to scratch the lambskin, which has happened). The 2 minis have different looks, so it depends on what you like better. I find the capacity to be very similar, not a big difference. I tend to wear my rect mini for dressier occasions, whereas my mini reissue is used for both dressy and casual occasions.

Thank you for this! This is super helpful. :) Do you happen to know the chain drop length on the mini reissue? Is it longer or shorter than the mini rectangular chain? I've tried the classic mini rectangular in the past and the chain is a touch long for me. Txs!

I’ve owned both. I’ve bought and sold numerous rectangular and square mini classic flaps and they just don’t stay in my collection for some reason. The reissue mini however is perfect. Casual and easy to wear. I vote mini reissue. Especially because you already have a medium classic flap. You honestly can’t go wrong with either! Good luck!

Did you try the mini rect recently (past 2 years) or older ones than that? They shortened the rect mini chain around 21P. I don't know what current length is today though.

To answer your question, my mini reissue is definitely shorter overall than my lambskin rect mini. Both of my bags are from 2021. HTH!

Oh wow! I didn't know that. I don't know what I would do w/o PF! lol. I did try an older mini rect (pre 21P) but also tried a mini rect from this season and still it was a touch long. So happy to hear about the chain length on the mini issue. Thanks!

No, I have a white mini backpack in caviar and a few beige seasonal flaps. I just don’t wear them with jeans and if I do I double the straps up so they don’t touch the denim. I thankfully have never had an issue with color transfer (hopefully never do ). I wouldn’t buy a white crossbody personally or a really light beige. I keep those to shoulder or a backpack.

I have both rect mini and reissue mini. Aged calfskin is a lot more carefree than lambskin for sure. My Mini reissue chain length is shorter than my rect mini. It sits perfectly above my hip when crossbody, and can easily be worn as shoulder bag since it has 4 gourmets. Reissue mini is super cute in person and more understated since there is no big logo. So I feel safer wearing it. However, there is nothing like a classic mini flap. I baby my classic minis and dont get to use them as often as I would like to lol
