Mini Kelly issue with top flap

Has this ever happened to anyone? Is this a typical issue with the mini Kellys or epsom leather? I haven’t used this bag very much but I noticed it recently started creasing and when I open the bag all the way there’s a “bubble”. See pictures! Quality control?

This is a normal design feature for Kellys of all sizes. It happens because the internal layer of leather is separating from the external layer, which makes the flap easier to open and close.

Thank you! This is my one and only kelly so I wasn’t sure! I tried looking at YouTube videos or other pictures but didn’t find much info. Also it seems on the videos I didn’t see creasing or bubble when being opened but maybe bc the bags were all brand new. Now that I used mine a few times the leather probably stretched too? I really don’t like it! It looks really bad! Lol

This is actually true of many flap bags including those of other brands like the chanel flap.
Leather will stretch, flex, and fold as it is manipulated.

It doesn't look bad.
Use the bag enjoy it and try to stop worrying about keeping it pristine.
Nobody would look at your bag and think it looks bad in any way..They will just think "wow! lucky girl has a mini Kelly"
I think people analyse their bags too much nothing stays pristine.

Yes! It’s smooth and flat when closed. I can just see the “line” on the top flap when closed or maybe it’s a shadow or crease.
