Hello fellow LV fans! I’m looking for some advice. I’m doing some travel this summer and fall. I’ll be going to Italy, Egypt, and Greece. I want to get a bag that will be good for sightseeing that is light weight but I will also feel like it’s safe. I keep hearing stories about tourists getting pickpocketed in Italy, so I’m a little nervous. Would the mini bum bag be a good travel bag? I’m thinking because it will be close to my chest or around my waist it will be better than a shoulder bag or tote bag. I just need to carry my phone, passport, card case, chapstick, and small sunscreen. I know the cognac empreinte mini bum bag will be released just before I head out on my travels, so I’m thinking about picking that up. Thoughts? Or would another bag be a good option? Thanks in advance!

I have a mini bum bag in monogram - I can just fit my phone in it ( iPhone pro Max) if I place it flat across the back inside. You could squeeze in a passport, tiny sanitizer etc as well but bear in mind it will be a pain if you want to access it - because of the tight fit and opening. Have you thought of the mono bumbag in the full size? I do wish I’d got that one instead, although the mini is very cute.

When I went to Italy and Paris a few years ago, I had my Alma BB with me and wore it crossbody. I felt safest with that while traveling. I think a regular sized Bumbag would be best, so you can even fit a wallet along with your passport and phone.

Not an LV but I really like my fjallraven kanken sling for this purpose. I have also worn a toiletry 26 on a strap with an inside organizer that is slim and close to the body but holds a surprising amount. I would not wear LV in Egypt simply because it will attract more attention, AND because bargaining is such a big part of the culture. It is hard to bargain in shops and with cab drivers when you are wearing LV, lol

That is a helpful flag. I’m doing two weeks in Egypt then flying straight to Greece and spending two weeks there. So I guess I can keep the LV in my luggage for use in Greece and bring something more low key for Egypt?

Good to know what you can fit inside. I’ll definitely bring the things I want to carry with me to the store to see if it fits and makes sense.

That's probably a better idea. However do not put the LV in your checked luggage  When we were in Morocco I had my Speedy 35 for the flight and just kept it in our hotel the rest of the time. With a smaller bag you can even keep it in the safe. I used the kanken and a plain canvas tote and that was nice because I could keep my important items close to me and have an easy way to carry a big water bottle (necessary for those climates!) and my market purchases. I am a big believer that while theft certainly happens, pickpockets go for the easiest target and they don't care what bag you are wearing - just if they can get it away from you or get into it easily.

Yes, yes and yes! :D I can only recommend to use the Mini Bumbag as a travel bag. I have the monogram now for a year and took it with me on every holiday since. It fits my iPhone pro, passport, cardholder and napkins in the front pocket and it's not full with these items. For me it's also easy to reach out to the item I need and put it back inside just with one hand. I'm sure you can add a small SPF in there too and a chapstick fits in the front pocket. To me the mini bum carries super comfortable and because it's close to the body I feel safe with my belongings (I have this little OCD tick where I constantly check if I still have my valuable items and using this bag really helps with that anxiety ).

You could also check out the full size bumbag ofcourse but for me it has too much vachetta and that worries me or maybe the new Low Key Bumbag. The mens have the Rush Bumbag which is bigger and available in a variety of colors and materials, I also like that one.

Oh thank you for your response, it’s very helpful! Glad to know you’ve used it before on holiday and it works for you! I agree with you about the regular sized bum bag — it has way too much vachetta for running around on holiday. I would be paranoid about ruining the vachetta, especially on the type of holiday I’m taking with large crowds around me and the risk of someone spilling something. The mini is so cute and the empreinte would be carefree. I will have a look at the Rush Bum bag that you mentioned. I haven’t heard of it before! Thanks for the recommendation!
