Do you think mini bags will still be in style for 2020, or are we going back to larger bags? Personally, I love mini bags and hope the trends never goes away haha

I think the popularity of micro mini bags will continue to wane because they were trendy novelties and aren’t very practical.
But, I think reasonably sized mini bags - particularly WOC - are here to stay for a number of reasons. Depending on style, they can transition well from day to evening and formal wear. They can often be used as a clutch. They look better than large bags on certain body types and frames. And, technology allows us to carry less so we don’t need as much purse real estate as we did before.
Plus, I suspect designers are making a higher profit on mini bags. They can charge almost as much for a mini as a full sized bag with less in materials. Now we know most of the cost of bags is marketing and brand power - not materials and labor - but still it is a factor that impacts profitability.

Micro bags suit my lifestyle, so I'll never stop wearing them. That said, the trend has been around for a few years, so I suspect they'll get harder to find for awhile and I'll be clinging onto the ones I do have hehe.
I agree that the brands are making more profits out of mini/micro bags. I think lower priced micro bags are gateway for younger customers or customers who don’t wish to pay extra $ for regular size bags. The fashion houses keep increasing prices on previously ‘entry level’ bags (LV canvas speedy for example) and introduce micro bags instead which cost less material/labor.

Mini bags (as in chanel mini flap, alma bb, celine nano...) are still very much in. Hermes most wanted bags at the moment are the mini lindy, mini bolide, evelyne tpm...
I love the mini bag trend/style 100%... I’d much prefer carrying a mini bag then haul a large tote/bag that looks stupid running errands. Mini bags look super chic both casual or dressy. However, one mini bag I cringe at is one of the most popular/affordable bags, and admittedly I was keen at one stage too... The Gucci mini/small Marmont. I see this bag everywhere, it’s either the bag or belt... STOP!! I’d much rather buy the YSL mini Lou at a cheaper price and it’s ALL LEATHER INSIDE AND OUT! In my opinion the YSL mini Lou is so much more of a classic too.

I personally find that I carry either my mini bags or my large totes, and my bags that are "normal" small/medium-sized don't get as much use.

I don't know, I don't think carrying a larger bag looks "stupid" for running errands, maybe they had to stop at the store after work or they have kids etc, I wouldn't stop at home just to change my bag to something small to look less stupid..
Everyone can carry what ever handbag they want - anything between the biggest tote or a "bag" that looks like a card holder. People can decide for themselves. IMO I think the mini/micro bag craze was just a hoax to get people to pay top dollar for bags that took very little material to make. Using very little of the expensive materials makes for great profits so I can see why this trend was embraced by bag makers!
If anyone tried to get me to fit all my daily necessities in a bag that's the size of a coin purse I'd tell them to go get their head checked.

HA, I was just reading your post and said "Yes" and now everyone wants to know what I'm taking about. I told them I passed my test. Ok. Well <rolls eyes> This is conceptual fashion. And, that has it’s place.
But, unless you are the uber wealthy or an over exposed starlet, you don’t have an assistant to actually carry your things so you can prance around carrying this ridiculous purse. LOL!
