Hi all

ive been a lurker for a while and i have gained alot of insight from other forumers and i wanted to share my experience. i googled and researched for weeks and sent emails to tons of clinics and set up face to face consultations with the below clinics:
1. GRAND
2.BANOBAGI
2. The Line (missed my appointment as i thought it was the next day)
3. April 31
4. LA PRIN
5. JW
6. MINE
7. JK (they changed my appointment at the last minute and i didn't go as i have already made up my mind)

i started with grand plastic surgery, despite their bad reputation online i wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. the clinic is big and they obviously invested a lot of money on the interior design, this was the most luxurious looking clinic out of the list. i met with my English interpreter and i had to fill the form with my details and previous surgeries etc that you fill at every clinic. i was then taken for CT scan then another interpreter was introduced to me which was an arabic language interpreter as i am from the middle east, i was amazed to know they offer an Arabic interpreter as none of the other clinics had that so i thought that was unique. i was taken to the consultant and she went through my history and i wanted a revision rhinoplasty, revision eye brow lift and aegyo-sal. i noticed that the strategy of this clinic is to dwell into you insecurities by telling you that your previous surgeries are not successful and that you need to have more surgeries and start to recommend other surgeries, it was bizarre. later i was taken to the lead doctor, i cannot recall his name i am bad with names sorry. the doctor went on to explain the different surgeries that i will be needing and went on to quote me 23 million won for everything which was ridiculous. i casually found my way out of the clinic and never looked back, i didn't pay for my consultation or CT scan, they contacted me the next day but i ignored them.

my next experience was at banobagi, the clinic is big and very famous with locals as it was obvious with the crowded reception area, this was the only clinic that had a crowd. all other clinics had 2 or 3 other people maximum at the reception. the English interpreter and consultant was the most uninterested person i have ever seen in my life, she didnt care at all, she took me to take photos and even while giving me instructions she was looking at her phone and not to my face she rushed me into the doctor's consultation. the doctor was nice and smiling and told me he could help me with what i want, the consultation was 3 minutes and then the consultant rushed me back to her room and wrote down the quote which was 19 million the it went down to 13,4 million as i am not coming through an agent. then she gave me the quote and thanked me for coming and told me to text her if i wanted to have surgery and told me to leave. it was rushed, she was quite rude and obviously only cared about the money part.

next was la prin. this clinic is the most basic of all the clinics. they dont have the fancy shmancy feel it was just a regular looking clinic and not too big. i didnt wait at all till the interpreter came up to me and gave me the papers to fill she was very nice. she took me to the consultant which was also nice and she told me that the surgeries i wanted were possible but she thought that i only needed my nose to be done and she warned me from other clinics that recommend surgeries that i wont need. i later met with the doctor who was very nice, humble and smiling all the time he took his time with me an touched my face and explained in detail about the forhead lift, aegyo sal and nose. he also said that i dont need more aegyo sal as i have already some. they quoted me 13 million won

next was april 31. i met with the interpreter brian which is a nice person, hes korean canadian and he speaks very well english, he took his time to talk to me about the history of the clinic and the doctors and he acknowledged that the clinic is one of the most expensive ones in seoul but the reason was that the doctors prefer quality over quantity and they only perform limited surgeries per day and they dont run a plastic surgery factory and they prefer the personal approach to patients. i then was taken to have a CT scan and i paid 50,000 won for that then the consultant talked to me and then i went to see the eye specialist who was nice and told me not to have a revision forehead lift because it will affect my eye sight. i went to see the nose specialist and also took his time with me explaining what he will be doing to my nose and he was very nice and humble for his position which as i recall is the president of the korean rhinoplasty association or something like that. then i was quoted 9 million won for my nose only.

next was JW, i met with Jay the english interpreter. i was taken to have a ct scan and then i met with the nose surgeon he explained in detail with drawing what he plans to do with my nose, he was very nice and very detailed and not rushed at all. i then met with the eye surgeon and he was also nice and told me what he will be doing with my forehead lift and aegyo sal. i was quoted 15000 USD and i told Jay that i cant afford that at all.

next was MINE clinic. i met with the english interpreter Katie who is amazing. she speaks perfect english as she lived in the USA. she is very warm and lovely and genuinely cares about the patient as a human not just another number, i felt that from day one. i met with the consultant and i told her what i wanted done and then the nose specialist came in, if i recall his name is Dr Lee, he explained in detail what he plans to do with my nose including drawing things on the screen with my picture and xray, the doctor is nice and smiles from time to time he kept asking me what is my goal with this surgery and what kind of result i wanted and he wrote everything i told him down on the patient note pad. i then met with Dr Jung (i think thats his name) he is humble and speaks good english but he doesnt acknowledge that hehe he prefers an interpreter. he took a long time to examine my face, eye and forehead and Katie told me later that he is a perfectionist. he made me hold a mirror in front of me and he pulled my eye brows to different positions and asked me which position i wanted and explained what incision hes going to perform and everything that is going to happen during surgery. i was very happy at this point with the interpersonal skills of everyone in this clinics, nothing is rushed, they didnt recommend extra surgeries, they all asked what i wanted and tol me what can be done and what couldnt be done. then the consultant came in and quoted me 16 million won then i told Katie that i can only afford 13 million won. katie convinced the consultant and i paid 13 million won and i will be getting 10% VAT refund at the airport which means i would be paying 11.3 million won for revesion forehead lift and shortening, aegyo sal filler and revesion rhinoplasty, i paid and booked the surgery and i had my surgery 2 days ago. the prepping for surgery part was the worst. i was lying in the OR and they started to steralize me with cold solution on my face and hair, they removed my nasal hair from the inside with a machine and i hated the pre surgery prep to be honest, Katie was with me all the time and she held my hand, i love this woman she really cares! then the doctor came in and i saw the nurse inject something in the drip and the next thing i know is im waking up in the recovery room. Katie was there also and she kept telling me to stay awake and not to fall asleep to make sure i am okay and recovered. at around 1 a.m. i fully woke up and went to the bathroom to pee, then she drove me to my hotel. my surgery took around 5 hours in total. i had my check up yesterday and saw dr Jung he checked on me and all is well, i still cant judge the outcome as i am swollen and bandaged. i will have my next check up tomorrow including aegyo sal fillers as the doctor did not perform the filler while i was asleep as he said he wants me awake to confirm the amount of filler needed as i need to look in the mirror while he performs it. i also had a bright light treatment which is supposed to be good for swelling. all in all i am very satisfied with the customer service of this clinic, they are genuine, warm and very personal, you dont feel like you are just another patient. i will update you once the bandages are off.

Wow!
Nice to know you found a clinic you're comfortable with. They sound great! I've never heard of them though. I'll be sure to check them out.
Good luck with your recovery!

Thanks for the review of all the clinics you visited! How did the aegyo sal filler turn out? Does it look natural? Which brand filler did they use and how long will it lasts you?

Thanks for sharing your experience with MINE clinic  Hope you recover quickly!
I'm quite surprised there's not much topics about MINE clinic here xD
Can't wait for the updates!

This is an awesome post @seoul_soon thank you for sharing! Did you wind up paying cash or credit card at Mine?

I have a scheduled consult at April31 and JW and I wonder if it's even going given how expensive they both are (and I can't believe April31 charges for the CT scan). Did either offer a discount?

Mine looks very promising.

Thanks for sharing your experience with MINE clinic  Hope you recover quickly!

@lovelypeach you seem to have a lot of knowledge on sk clinics. Have you seen any reviews (good or bad) on Mine? Doesn't seem like there are any reviews in English on them other than the one here. TY

@atomgrrl
To me Mine is a good clinic for specific surgery. I mean they are specialized, they say in breast surgery and nose. I'm actually interested in Mine for something else.
I haven't seen bad cases or bad complaints (yet). They know what style koreans love. I'm sorry I don't really know how to explain... They lean more towards the natural effets, no dramatic change. Idk I've been in love with this clinic for a while, but still I gotta be careful, we never know. I haven't asked about prices yet.

PM me if you're also interested, can't really find my words today lol don't worry I did not forget about your post haha

Thanks @lovelypeach for responding. I do like the technique they use for rhino. And you are right, the results look pretty natural. Also find it interesting Dr. Lee and Dr. Chang both have experience in Taiwan! I reached out to them and they responded with some info and were supposed to send me a confirmation email to book a consultation but they never did

@versible No what they call "real story" is kid of a review. It's more than just b&a pictures
They post pictures of the patient before the surgery, few days after surgery, few weeks after surgery, few months etc. It's kind of like "successs story", or "real" story of a patient, full transformation of a patient if you understand what I mean
Patients who have accepted to share their pictures, and surgery success story

Note: It can be photoshopped, sponsored in my opinion, but it's still nice to see more than just b&a pictures

I don't remember if it's a real story or not, but here you are an example will be better than words
