Thinking about the Deco Diamond. I've been wearing the Cartier Roadster. Will the Michele seem like a big step down since it's more of a fashion watch?

Also, what do people do for a living that wear Michele watches; i.e. students, housewives, attorneys?

I, personally think the Cartier Roadster, is much nicer. I've seen all people, professionals in medical and education, very young and very old wear Michele. I'm just not into them for me. I'd sooner get another style Cartier, a j12, or even a rolex if you're in mood for something new.

i wear a michele watch, i'm 25 and work in the art world. i agree that all different types of people wear them. i think they're fun and if you are being drawn to one, buy it. it's not "a step down" if you are happy with it.

I love Cartier so I am little partial however would be selling your Cartier Watch? If your not selling your watch you can always where the Cartier Watch when you need to impress and where the Michele watch the other times. I do think Cartier watches have more prestige than Michele watches but who cares it's what you like.

A step down? Who is judging you by your watch? Seriously,my opinions on people are based on who they are and their kindness and compassion not the status symbols
that only mean they can buy those things.

Michele watches are well-made Swiss movement. Plus, you are getting some nice sparkle from the diamonds that I'm assuming your Roadster does not have diamonds (?). I love that you can change your watch look with Michele's bands--coordinating with your outfits, changes for the season, etc. That's another plus that Michele offers that Cartier does not. I think that Cartier is more staid, more prestigious but less fun.

Very well said!

The Roadster is made such that changing bands is very easy to do. It even comes with an extra band to start with. :)

That said, to the OP: Why does it even matter what others' perception of the status of your watch is? If you love it, wear it.

ITA. I have 2 Michele's and I love them. If I could afford a Cartier right now, I'd definitely get one, because obviously they are timeless, but right now it's just not reasonable. I don't think a Michele would be a step down in any way...maybe just a step to the side? LOL!

I am a very big watch collector and have even worked on watches. I assure you that when you are comparing these 2 watches thath there is no comparison. First Michele is not a SWISS MADE WATCH.. it is made over seas but not in Switzerland. They can put SWISS on the dial but not SWISS MADE.. a CARTIER is SWISS MADE and if you hold the two watches in your hands and compare the quality and fit and finish there is no comparison. Open the 2 watches up and you will not believe what you see. Its like looking un the hood of a BMW and a YUGO. In any case it really comes down to what you can afford. Michelle watches are a FASHION watch..period... and a CARTIER well it is a very expensive quality watch and the automatic movement Cartier watches are true timepieces. The other thing is if you buy any of these watches I HIGHLY recommend you make sure you are getting a VALID AUTHORZED DEALER STAMPED WARRANTY with you watch... very important and yes ask the question exactly as I wrote it... I personally buy all my watches from About Time at www.abouttime.com They are a honest and well run business. Ask for Steve at 949-429-4290. I am sure he will give you a fantastic deal...

I don't understand why it would be a step down. They do not have an outrageous markup, if that's what you are asking. Wear/buy what you like! They have some very fun, versatile styles with or without bling. I've seen women of all ages wearing them.

If you have a stamped warranty the manufacturer honor the warranty (fix and possibly replace parts) it if you have any issues. Otherwise you are at the mercy of the jeweler and may have to pay out of pocket to fix it.
