Hi, I am usually on the LV forum but I recently decided to repurchase a MK Hamilton bag. I had one in brown but then returned it because I thought it was too heavy but then I regretted it and just re bought it in black.

I love my new bag but I notice though the bag seems very tight like the strap that goes around the top is too well tight. Also this bag seems to wrinkle up more than the previous bag I had.

I do not know if I should exchange for a new bag or if this is normal.

Thank you for your help, I attached a photo to better show what I am talking about.

Also the bag I tried on at the store did not have these lines so that is another reason why I am abit concerned

Hmm, I'm not liking the way that looks. This is really helpful to me, as I was debating this bag. It looks like it's pulling in a weird way. I don't think this is a defect on your bag, but maybe just a bad design... it would bother me, to be honest...

I had this bag in the past, it was brown and did not look like this at all. Also the purse in the store did not look like this either. They got this bag from the back and it was all wrapped up. I am thinking about heading down to Macy's after work to show them.

My DH surprised me with this bag (the luggage color) for my birthday a few weeks ago. And, I just carried it for the first time yesterday. I noticed that my bag puckers at the top a little when not completely filled. I just figured that it was from the weight of the lock and chain strap. From the pics that you posted, it looks like the wrinkles are there because the bag is un-snapped. KWIM? I think that it's just a design issue, not a defect. I also think that the leather contributes to the "wrinkling" since it's not the same type of stiff leather seen on other bags. I love my bag, but you should get an opinion from the store staff to ease your mind. Good luck!

I know what you are referring to with the tightness. I have looked at different Hamiltons in the store and have noticed a variation in how tight the piece of leather is that cinches at the top. If you are unhappy how this one is constructed, perhaps you could exchange it for another one.

I own this bag, and mine is not as tight as yours is at the top and it doesn't have the pleats/wrinkles.

Ok I checked out the three Hamilton bags at my local dept store and none of them had your issue. I held them with the stuffing and without, snapped/unsnapped, handheld/shoulder carried. My suggestion is to get another one. HTH!

I just bought this bag in blue and mine doesn't do that. I do have the smaller one though, I'm not sure if maybe the larger the bag, the more it pulls on the handles? I'm not sure, but if you have the larger size, maybe try the smaller size? Good luck! This bag is definitely awesome! I'm pleasantly surprised!

I have the medium size Hamilton and it does not do that. The larger ones I saw in the store werent' doing that either. I would take it up to the store and talk to the SA's about it. Mine has broken in some and it still doesn't do that.

Thank you ladies for all of your help.

I went back to the store and showed the SA and she agreed with me that the bag looked off.

I started to look around and I saw a black leather Hamilton with a gold lock and chain for the shoulder strap. The leather on this bag was so much softer than the one I had. I exchanged my Hamilton with the silver pad lock for the one with the gold. I am so happy no more purse butt wrinkles lol.

Here is a picture of the new bag.
