We are thinking of going to Maya Riviera, Mexico during the first week of August. I know that the news of the hurricane right now but hopefully by August, it will past and be going elsewhere. I've been reading alot about rain during their summer months. Do these rain usually last all day or it comes and goes for a few minutes only (like Florida).

Any personal experience of being there during August is appreciated. TIA!

My DH and I just got back from the Mayan Riviera area (stayed 6/28-7/4) and it rained for a grand total of 10 minutes one day for the entire week. They called for scattered t-storms every day, 40-60% chance.

Just watch out for hurricanes - be sure to purchase travel insurance.
