Let's see all the pretty Metallics. I will start with my two. I love the soft feel of them.

First up Miss Metallic (Rosegold) Phoebe.

You look great!!! I had never really liked the RG Phoebe, as the photos on here made it look too pink or bronze metallic-y for me. Then this past Monday, I saw a classy older lady carrying the RG Phoebe out of the hospital (I was going to see a specialist), and I about turned around and walked out with her just to look at the bag. SO LOVELY!!!

May I ask a question of you Coach experts? Yesterday I saw a bag at the local (Carmel, CA) outlet store that was a silver metallic. I can't remember the style, but that's not important... what's important is that I really liked the bag, but I worried whether the metallic would hold up over time. I've heard horror stories that metallics from ANY company will crease, fade, splotch, or wear off, even if you baby them And I DO baby my bags! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated... TIA!

I currently have 3 silver leather bags sitting in limbo because I consider them damaged. My Poppy Glam is fine everywhere except the handles and the creed. The silver is peeling off the creed and the handles are half brown. The shoulder strap (short one, long one is OK) on my Kristin hobo has no metallic finish left on it. The corners are also wearing off. My Audrey tote is starting to do the same. These were all FP or dept. store purchases. Don't know what I should do about them.

Just bought the silver Peyton tote from FOS. I'm hoping that the saffiano leather holds up better.

Thank you for the feedback. I'm so sorry that your purchases haven't held up.

I'm assuming that all your other Coach bags (the non-metallics ones) have held up well?

I have a black Coach Bridle shoulder strap bag, made in Italy, purchased from a Coach store in 1999, that I've used as an evening bag for years, and I have a red Ashley Carryall that I bought a year ago and use fairly often; both of these bags still look brand new.

Have never had a major issue with any non-metallic bags from Coach. I had to send one in for a shoulder strap repair when the snap broke, but that was relatively minor.

I think the older bags are made better and hold up better over the years.

A lot depends on what type of metalic finish the bag has. Some of the bags are made with a different leather process and will hopefully last longer than others. But generally speaking these bags don't hold up well to wear. I own several and all are fine, but they don't get used much because I want them to stay nice. So I think a metallic finish is fine for nice satchels or clutches that are only going to be used occasionally, but not for everyday bags.
