Messenger- too masculine?

Hi- I have been thinking about purcashing the messenger as day is just too long and big for me? Is it too masculine or awkward to carry i.e the shoulder strap? If anyone has I would love to hear from you! thanks

I have the messenger in the Bouton D'or (neon yellow) and it is very feminine and gorgeous! Nothing masculine about it. I think it depends on which color you choose.

I'm 5' 6" and pretty much a "girly girl", and I love my sky blue messenger. I don't think it's even remotely masculine. It's a great size, and my definite "go to" bag for traveling.

In general, messengers are unisex. Guys tend to lean towards dark colors such as black, dark olive, brown. Girls have more options such as red, yellow, neon blue. But that doesnt seem to work anymore because ANYBODY nowadays can just go for just about ANY colors or styles. It comes down to your personal style and how you like it. If you think it looks great on you, go for it. I would highly recommend you to go to the store and try some on. If you live in LA, The Bal store has lots of nice colors for summer such as coral, yellow, white. Keep us updated.

I think it depends on how you dress as well but all bbags are easy to work around, that's the beauty of them! Hope you find one that suits you well!

i'm a guy and i have a black besace messenger. this one, though, i think is a bit masculine. but if you got a bright color, i think it would look great!!

i have the messenger in vert thyme... it is sooo IN PLACE when i sling it on. love it. And yeap, not too masculine at all! I actually find it HIP to be worn by cool women like us..hehehe

Oh my gosh, the messenger is what got me into Balenciaga's to begin with. They are the most versatile of all the Bal bags. I love my messengers!! One thing I do that some would yell at me for probably, is, I cut off the shoulder pad piece, and I punch a hole on the opposite end of strap with a leather punch that is the same as the other holes. That way I can wear it shorter or when I want to carry it cross ways, adjust it for that with the original holes.

It is such an easy bag to use and carry. I love it. I am speaking of the flat messenger though and not the big, giant messenger or besace.
