HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY.

Don't forget to honor those who gave their lives for us.

Have a good day everyone.

Thoughts & prayers are with all of those who have served before and are serving now. Today is an especially special day for my family since my father was in the army for 20 years and my grandfather was even longer in the army!

I was wondering about my 1000th post and thought that being a member of the armed forces it would be appropriate to post on this thread.

Do not stand at my grave and weep;
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there.
I did not die.

I went to the grocery store Friday morning and saw an elderly gentleman there wearing a short-sleeved sports shirt, khakis, and his garrison cap with all his medals on it, and I felt like running up and throwing my arms around him and saying "thank you!" but of course I didn't. He reminded me of my grandfather who fought in WWll and who passed away in the early 90s. Then I thought about how there are probably not too many WWll vets alive any more. We should honor all out veterans, not just on Memorial Day but every day.
