I remember when she got married the first time Joan said that Melissa wanted to wear a slip dress because Carolyn Besette was all the rage then, and Joan told her don’t waste her wedding day wearing a slip! She ended up doing this beautiful winter Wonderland type wedding.

Yes - I just so happen to be there in NYC - was the first weekend in December and I had gone on vacation to go see the lighting of the tree at Rockefeller - and was at the Plaza that Saturday and saw all the guests arriving and all action - I had no idea who's wedding it was until I saw Joan & Melissa!

Some were inspired by the pieces that she actually owned.
Melissa sold some of her pieces at auction but obviously kept her fav.
Joan was often seen at auctions and if she liked a piece, she will obtain it no matters the price.

she always had a good story to go along with the pieces and sometimes even photo's showing her wearing the real thing. she and the hostess because very good friends and she requested that they do the shows together and they were a big hit for years!
