Have 6 medium florentine satchels in natural, black, red, strawberry, chestnut, sage, denim....whoops 7....love love love love love...but wondering if I should add a small...in Ocean or crimson.....plusses and negatives in sizes?

Since you own so many medium satchels, why don’t you get the small one? Plus: lighter, smaller { to use when you don’t need to bring a lot of stuff). Con: smaller opening, smaller size ( if you need to bring the kitchen sink).

There was a very interesting YT video today comparing the mini Flo satchel to the micro.
I have the mini and the small, and both are good sizes and work for me. I also have 1 medium, and while
it's beautiful, I can't lift it, even empty. I don't own a micro.

It was a very informative video, by Bag Hound, who details all the differences. What was most interesting
to me was her conclusion that the micro FEELS heavier, even tho it's technically a few ounces
lighter than the mini. She concludes that because the micro is smaller, all the weight is more
concentrated. I've experienced this with other handbags, tiny cross bodies that feel like
bricks, when their actual weight is under 1lb. It was nice to see that someone else
has identified the same issue with handbag weight.

Bag Hound's video was one of the most detailed and best handbag comparisons I've seen on YT.
She pointed out a lot of subtle differences, some that might matter to some ladies, and other
that we might not care about. But having these items identified, will be very useful to me
when I look at other handbags. Having seen that video, I'll be more aware to check out some
of the details I might otherwise overlook.... width of the longer strap, extra 'keepers' on the longer
strap (or not), # of interior pockets and their size. I tend to gloss over some of these
details, assuming they are 'standard' Dooney. But in fact, there can be variations, from style
to style, among different sizes of the same style, and even older vs. newer productions of
the same style. The more we learn, the more we realize we don't know it all! :)

I saw a part of that video as well. I get confused with the sizes past the small.

medium
Small
Micro
Mini
Nano?

Is that the order by size?

Size names of Florentine satchels are very confusing. And when you consider that
the medium is really very 'large', and the small is a generous 'medium' sized bag,
and the mini isn't mini at all, but rather a good sized 'small' handbag....
well, it's no wonder we have trouble keeping the sizes straight and deciding
which one will work for us.

On top of this, sometimes the QVC names for these bags aren't consistent with
Dooney names, or the hosts add more confusion. I used to be able to tell by
the 'list price', but that has gone up over time, so it's no longer a good indicator.
