Med lambskin Classic Flap - liner/insert (yes or no) & where to buy in UK

Should I get an insert/liner for medium lambskin Classic Flap?

  • No liners might damage the bag, or make it go out of shape

Hi,

I’ve just purchased a medium lambskin classic flap. I’ve read a number of threads on here but I’m still not sure which way to go.

Do you think I definitely need a bag insert/liner?

Would this be to keep the shape of the bag
Or
Just to keep the inside of the bag clean and stop the leather interior from getting scratched?

If you don’t have a liner, will the inside of the bag get scratched up badly?

If I think it would bother me, getting a scratched Leather interior, would you say get a bag liner?

My concern with getting a liner for this bag is that it’s already quite small inside and getting the liner will just reduce the space even more. I’m worried I wont be able to fit my essentials in if I get one. It reduced the amount I can fit inside my medium boy bag when I got a liner.

also, I don’t want the liner to stretch or damage the bag.

Any thoughts on this from anyone?

Any recommendations for where to get one from in the UK?

Thank you everyone

Congrats on your flap! I have inserts for mine but don’t think they’re needed and definitely not to keep shape. One time my sanitizer pen somehow leaked and I was glad it got absorbed by the felt. I still often take them out to make space. For me I start enjoying and using my bags more after the few tiny but unavoidable scratches/imperfections!

It’s just new and extremely expensive, you know what it’s like when you first get it.

i havent used it yet

maybe when I’ve had it a few yrs I might chill out about it.

I might get a liner for now. Until I’ve had it a while and feel I can deal with the scratches

Yep totally natural to baby them at first! Also I know my flaps are forever and to gift daughters. Other bags if I’m on the fence and think I might sell I will be extra careful too.

I purchased a thin, felt liner for my med beige claire from thechicbaglady on IG. Not sure if she ships outside the U.S., but I found her through this forum and am happy with my purchase. Keeps my bag clean!

I was thinking about what you said. A lot of places that sell liners, they are 2mm thick.

Some of them are 1.2mm thick.

Do you think I need a liner to help me keep the shape of the bag or do you think that won’t be a problem?

I think I’m trying to say would I be okay with a thin liner of say 1.2mm thick, just to keep it clean inside, and so I don’t scratch it, but I don’t necessarily need a thick liner for the bag to keep its shape?

Do you think the medium size CF in lambskin would hold its shape?

any suggestions on colour?

I thought maybe burgundy or wine so that it would go with the inside of the bag

But I also feel like I want one in a baby, pink shade, but I don’t think this would look right.

Any thoughts on colour?
