May I know how much does a Birkin usually charge in Japan?

Hi! I'm a newbie for the Hermes forum! My mom desperately wants a 35cm Birkin, I am trying my very best to get her one! Since waiting for months and still no sign at all, while i'll join my hubby for his biz trip to Tokyo next week, I am thinking to go to the H shops there to try our luck! Please accept my ignorance, is it the Hermes in Japan charges at least 30% higher than other countries? May I know if anyone has bought a birkin there lately (well, I meant before the disaster)? If so, how much would it be?

As a daughter, I would tried my very best to get wot mom desires!! Sadly, no chance in the next few months to go to Paris or Europe! Tried all connections with friends around yet no news at all, can't be pushy anyway since asking for favors! The H bag is tough to get and so expensive too! Aiyah.....

emmyemmy, do you have good friends that are very good customers at H? You should also ask them to try to request (the one your mom wants) it from their SAs. I had a friend who didn't live near an H store and she's been wanting one forever. So I told my SA and even told him who it was for. After 6 months, she got the one she wanted. Try doing that. Good luck.

Guess Wot?!!!! Hubby has emailed Ginza Hermes to check out the bag's availability! They did reply!!! Yeah!!!! It's available!!! Veau Epsom 35 cm, 1,092,000 yen! Will go and get it next then!!! Yeahhh!!!! :yahoo:

I knew Japan prices were higher but I didn't expect them to be that much more than Aussie prices (which are way higher than US, Paris already)... but Japan prices are just through the roof!

Congrats on finding what you were after, that in itself is the difficulty most of the time.

That JAP price is quite good then, comparing to what a friend of mine who has just paid for her 30cm Chevre Birkin which was about AUD 13K........:p
