Do those of you who’ve owned some Saint Laurent pieces for a while have any comments on the durability of the Matelassé calfskin leather versus the Lambskin?

I am thinking of the Lou Camera Bag as my next purchase and I’d like to pick the most durable type of leather.

From my understanding, “Matelassé” refers to the stitching, not the leather itself. I just received a WOC for Christmas so I cant tell give any comment on the leather (other than my bag is gorgeous) but I would day the leather looks more like a caviar leather vs lambskin.

Thanks! The camera bag doesn’t come in the grained leather currently, so it is the matelassé (yes, stitches) calfskin vs smooth lambskin.
